Co-op is awesome on this - now 40+ hours in. Absolutely spanks the arse of the first game - which is great to see. Some excellent (and twisted!) production values in the game - like setting one of the nutters on fire and in his dying flames, screams "I smell delicious!" - lol.
Would be nice to...
FPMSL! Too right. It didn't scare me - rather it frustrated the hell out of me with being too dark. Add mood. Add atmosphere. But don't make a game where the visible area is a 100x100 pixel blob in the middle of your screen.
As for being scared - Scarabaeus was the first I remember, from back...
Only for the fun of it - nothing serious at all. :) Would get royally pwned if I went online with it!
I do have UT2004 installed via Steam though and have a dabble every now and then. I like the instagib and low-G modifiers :)

Simon - you too?? Mine's just done this today. :( Went swimming before work this morning - everything fine. Left the pool and got into the car - no heater fans. :(
Checked the fuses in the passenger door hinge area, but I don't think they apply to the heater fan. I'm assuming the other fuses...
Ironically going full circle, imo. The days of bedroom-based games developers in the C64/Spectrum days are having a revival with the mobile market. It's great too see as well. As much as I like a high-end, polished and well produced game - there's also masses of appeal to a simple, small and...
Re: XCOM : Enemy Unknown
PMSL. I've done that so many times before with games like this. Makes it much easier to recognise who is carrying what and where they are.

Re: XCOM : Enemy Unknown
Fair points - and I do think it's a great game that I'll pursue with. But these firing niggles are beginning to bug me. If they weren't so critical to the game itself, then I could overlook them. And my sniper definitely isn't as good as she was in her first mission...
Re: XCOM : Enemy Unknown
Yep - the sound track is good. There is a save feature that can be switched on in the options, but it's not on by default. :S
What issues are you getting? I've got pretty bad tearing - even with vsync on, forced on, forced off - makes no odds :(

Re: XCOM : Enemy Unknown
Not sure if you ever played the originals m8, but they were really quite difficult too. I'm not 100% convinced that the aliens aren't scripted to get hit or be missed on a repeat basis, either. When I've retried a level (I don't want to get a squad member killed - lol)...
At first, I thought it was a one off. Then, I thought I might just be a bit unlucky. But increasingly, the rather superb XCOM : Enemy Unknown appears to be crippled with a rather ludicrous and frustrating hit detection system. Some screenies I've taken in the last few rounds....
45% chance...

Ah - now then! :)
What do you get in terms of connection stability? Are they pretty good through the APs? What type of traffic do you normally have going through them? Basic data files or heavy-bandwidth stuff like streaming?
From a setup perspective, is it not much more involved than the...
None. Absolutely none whatsoever. :) I have used about 9GB before now, but that's when I had a LOT of apps running at once, which I very rarely do.
If devs stopped arsing around with the old x86 memory limits and pushing the archaic DX9 standard to melting point - the DX11 & x64 dedicated...
Probably nothing. But I got 3x 2GB on my i7 build initially and came across some silly cheap 3x 4GB earlier this year. So now I'm rolling on 18GB. Pointless, but meh...

Chaps,
I would appreciate just some intro level discussion about the Cisco 2500 series wireless controller and using that with Cisco access points.
Basically, I'm looking into setting one up in a large property, with a Cisco access point being located in most of the rooms. I think the 15...
It's in the Focus Interactive special offers. PMSL that the game hasn't even been released yet and they are knocking 75% off! :P Edit - lol, they've changed it an put it back up to £19.99!
That was the best bit for me. I left the online side of things until the very last. I thought some of the...
Company of Heroes was back on for less than £7 for the full set last weekend. Think it's gone now though. Seriously debating pre-ordering Company of Heroes 2 on Steam for £39.99 ;)
Tempted. But will wait for the reviews on that, I think.

Very rarely m8 as I'm over in Ashton-under-Lyne now and the Evo is in stored in a garage at the minute! I do need to get her out again - before the salt starts to be spread on the roads. Even with the undersides resealed earlier this year, I'd still prefer to not take her out and add to the rust...
PMSL! With 97 achievements still to get! ;)
Some if the Steam achievements are crazy on the games I've got. You've either got to be 1,000% commited to try, die and retry again - or cheat.
I've just remembered with my 300+ hours on Company of Heroes, actually. Those hours are for the Steam...
Normally hit around the 270-280 hour barrier and that's my limit. The sole exception is Company of Heroes which is now past 300+ hours.
Others that fall into this time bracket are BC2 and BF2142. Not even scratched the surface of BF3 in comparison.
My dad's managed to crack 750+ hours on...
