A bit of UE4 "tech stuff"

Andy, I guess that comment above is the real hardware-kicker - but just how 'blurry' is that line between lighting accuracy to convincing the human eye that what it's seeing in front of it, is believable? Although a shimmering water reflection via the sun, projected onto a building wall might...

Anybody here into non-realtime graphics rendering?

On a totally seperate note, yet slightly related - I saw that new animated film The Croods over the Easter weekend. Being slightly geeky about what was on screen, I was very impressed with some of the smoke and water effects in the film. Ok, no doubt they will have a whole team of animators and...

I love my new 182. But need help already.

Easy fix mate - mine rattled like a b**ch. You can get the replacement clamp easily enough from Renault and it's not a great deal of wedge. Didn't even need to jack my car up - just literally got the drivers' side up on the kerb and slid underneath. There's a good chance the bolts holding the...

Anybody here into non-realtime graphics rendering?

All this talk about different axes and planes - I bet your spatial awareness is pretty damned good. Are you good when driving on track then? D.

Titan Quest Gold is back on for the next 4 hours at £3.75. Well worth it if you want a Diablo-type dungeon hack game. D.

    RaceRoom Racing Experience

I know what you're saying. I've actually fired up Race 07 this week for the first time in ages with the G25. I've had great fun with the STCC spec Seat Leon going around Donington. I love the skitish/grippy nature of the track and cars. And a little tail-happiness with the BMW. :) D.

    Battlefield 4

I always play the SP campaign first on any FPS game. I think it adds to the game in a lot of ways. The campaign in Bad Company 2 I really enjoyed - just through the dialogue between the main characters. D.

    '55 Arctic Blue 182 - Blackburn Tesco's

Ah - hello again! Yep - Janspeed/KTR with unsilenced section. No worries about the PM - just a bit busy at the minute, but will repsond tonight, if that's ok? Cheers, D.

Just now - parked a couple of bays up from me. Had a CS sticker in the side rear window. D.

does anyone still play boarderlands 2?

Loved it when I first got it. Played it loads and racked up 75 hours in total on it. A bit bored of it now though - I haven't even started two of the latest DLCs that I got with the season pass. That said, it is a massive improvement over the first game. D.

    Vodafone - Data limit increase

I could probably survive on 50MB per month, tbh. I only ever use internet on my phone when sync'd wirelessly at home or work. Drives me insane otherwise.... D.

    Battlefield 4

You're right of course (if you're referring to my post containing devs) - it's clearly the pressure passed on down from higher up - as with any business that gets the incomplete and flawed products out the door. I should have worded that better! :) D.

    Battlefield 4

BC2 was by far the best of their most recent'ish efforts - with Port Valdez and Atacama Desert being great examples of map design where both ranged and CQC were evident throughout the round. Unfortunately, you're 100% correct on the endless DLCs/perks/Premium Passes that are incorporated into...

172 Cup at Oulton Park yesterday?

Feck! Sounds expensive? :( I wasn't on track myself - just nipped up there after dropping off the 182 at Birchdown for a service. Did yours have a full cage, with door cards, etc? D.

    Battlefield 4

If they make BF4 anything like BF2 or BF2142, then any future marriage I may have will probably end up in divorce. If they simply rehash BF3, then I may chuck a couple of hours into it and then be done. It's so difficult to explain to non-BF long-termers just how much of the franchise they...

172 Cup at Oulton Park yesterday?

Walked past it in the garage area - very well presented and looked totally at home and fit-for-purpose there. :) Anyone off here? D.

Funnily enough m8 - you're the 4th or 5th person to say the same! It does seem like they have really gone OTT with describing subnetting.... D.

    CCNA Basics

Three year bump. I have decided that subnetting utterly sucks ass. Look - in the real world, you'll need a scope of approx 100 hosts. Just FECKING PICK A SUBNET AND BE DONE WITH IT! Christ almighty. The ICND1 book so far wasn't too bad until I hit this wall of utter shite called subnetting...

I like the fact that of the two recent Origin-enabled games I've bought in retail DVD packaging - I've had to download each game through Origin as the media failed to work with it. EA - come on. Seriously? D.

    K Powered '79 Civic

I think that's part of it's appeal for me. The fact that it's based on something that from the outset, appears to be so mundane. :) D.

    Bit of Jap crap...

Only ever seen one on the roads over here - proper rare! Cracking purchase. Not sure I could live with the wheels long term, but that's about all I'd change. :) D.
