The problem is people are comparing the 197 to the likes of the Trophy, a special edition aimed at a particular type of person. The 197 is in fact the new 172, which was aimed at a much wider audience.
I think we need to be a little more patient and wait for the more focused variants, then rip...
Circa 670kg is about right for a Westie.
Sounds great, you've got more bottle than me, i had a Westfield chassis but sold it as i thought i couldn't cope with the compromise! I do a lot of miles though...
Keep us updated, i'd get get ITBs tbh!
How much of an issue is insurance with the imports though?
I might change cars at 22, i was thinking of getting a UK300 (with PPP) edition as it has the best interior, then just whack on a STI spoiler so it looks good. I would get a cheaper import but will the amount saved be spanked on insurance?
As cool as Dalla's looks it would be nice to see a completely mint original 172 for once.
I've only seen one sunflower 172, almost broke my neck when i double taked! Have fun with it.
The JGTC style kits look cool, but they also add weight. I'd like to think the NSX could be entered into Britcars in a couple of years, so maybe it will end up with one once it has hooge tyres.
This vid is awesome:

I'm sure Fred's place is good but it's not the only place in the country...

No, if his dad totalled it then ludaprix would lose it. Although he mentioned TPFT which is a bit silly IMO unless the car is worth very little and you were an experienced driver...
This year i paid under £1k for insurance for the first time (i'm 21). If it did it all again i would rather of...
No, ET45 would be worse as it would mean the wheels are further in, hence why you need the spacer.
Most aftermarket wheels are around the ET37 mark.
Once you have the spacers on the rear you should be able to lower it as much as you like.
The original 172 has ET48 (i think!), the 172 Cup has ET38.5 wheels with the aim of improving handling although it also had stronger hubs (maybe what the 182 has...?) and slightly revised suspension.
No, scrubbing won't be a problem.
I reckon she talked dirty!
I think i paid about £120 (not sure if including VAT) for a Turini a couple of years ago, and then the centre cap on top of that.
I'm pretty sure that the 182s have different hubs, so the wheels have a higher offset to compensate. The 172 Cup wheels (Turinis but this time in silver) have an ET38.5, so they will give you a wider track.
Purely from an aesthetic point of view it'll be better, but you could argue it would...
You don't want Trophy rims really, Cup rims have a better ET (come out further). You're best off going for second hand Cup wheels and refurbing them.
Otherwise, go to Speedline direct and see if they do anthracite ones. Speedline are cheapest for brand new wheels anyway.
