cant afford 172 insurance and 1.2 is at 122,000 miles and ill have done about 140,000 this time next year if i keep doing the same miles im doing now, just dont fancy putting all the work into an engine conversion for another 1.2 16v lump because it wouldnt give me anything to look forward to...
i knew the replys this guy was going to get as soon as i saw the thread title, typical!
what you want to do first mate is sort your suspension, brakes and lose weight. not sure if your talking about a MK1 or MK2 clio here but ill assume its a MK2...
Coilover suspension (or if...
he says his car doesnt really come out in the wet anyway, and to be honest even cheapo tyres are ok in the wet if your sticking to speedlimits and not hammering into corners (or so ive found on my mums car anyway)
you havn't said how much you want to spend but, i usually stick to pioneer so recommend anything pioneer, especially the high end units, ive got a DEH-P8600MP which is nice :)
lol ive put £80 of petrol in mine in the last 5 days and i only use it for driving about, my works only 2 minz away so not like i have a long drive to work!
yep but if you read i said mine keeps pulling into 6,000rpm where my mums standard one doesnt and the power drops off about 5,800rpm.
with 122,000 miles the engines really loose and the airbox/filter lets it breath nice and freely!
been driving my mums dynamique tonight since my brakes are fuked (Changing them tomorrow) and was playing with the trip computer (mine doesnt have one) now i know these arnt the most accurate thing in the world but i was amazed at it.
i managed to get it to 17.5mpg when hammering it BUT then...
depends what mood im in, if im just driving normally then usually change about 3,500rpm, dont take it over 3,000rpm for the first 15 mins
if im on the dual c/way then usually about 5,000rpm
if im really going for it if someones up my arse or on a backroad then its usually 6,200, which is...
tell me how this is a different kettle of fish when it comes to modifiing them then, you still get crap gains when it comes to BHB per £
and cheers to all the guys (seems to be the non RS owners!) who actually have something decent to say and who are sticking up for me!!
to be honest neather does a RR unless its a before and after on the same RR with same air temp etc as im sure you know.
i was bored thought id make a video, video didnt turn out as great as i thought but i thought id post it anyway.
i think you must be getting confused its not a superduper megaflow its a super megaflow, im assuming you dont know what it is since your having a laugh at it?
i cant see what benefit having a flux capacitor on a car would have performance wise?
i cant see how its a different kettle of fish? why spend thousands on a 180bhp car to get it to not much over 200bhp when spend that on somthing that was designed to be fast such as an evo and you get a massive power boost?
its the same idea as why i mod a 1.2 because the car was cheap, its...
