look at it this way, i cant afford to buy or insure a faster car, ive spent £21 on giving it a noticeable power increase, sounds a bit better and is a lot better to drive.
what about all these guys that spend £ on making a 172/182 faster is that wasted? why not buy a turbo car and get massive...
right basically, my car has minor performance mods, in total its cost me £21 on engine mods, now when i had first got my car i couldnt find any speedo vids, now i thought this would be a good idea for anyone else whos just got a 1.2 whos thinking of modding it to compair it to there car
its nothing to do with the invisible speedo, you can clearly see the speedo pulling to 70mph and then me coming off the throttle at 80mph to see how fast (or how slow) it gets there, but also lets you hear the noise from my modded airbox (not lots of little holes drilled sucking in hot air...
coming a long nicely, gear knob and pedals are nice, although i prefer the more standard look inside, but still good work!
to be honest id only lower your car 60mm or more, anything less and it doesnt look much lower unless you park beside another clio and even at that its not a great deal...
road noise is a bit louder, exhaust sounds brilliant even although its standard you hear it popping when you take your foot off the accelerator.
and why cant you understand doing it to a 1.2? 1.2 has less torque than a 172 so stripping it makes a bigger difference
the best way to make a 1.2...
yeah much emore practical with them in just feels more raw with them out! mine usually only come out for a bit of a laugh at weekends. some pics and a video of it stripped HERE
quick video i done of the clio 0-80mph, it hits the limiter in 2nd at 55 mph to give you a rough 0-60 time (i counted about 10 seconds?) since you cant see the speedo for the sun!
only mods are a custom made HKS pannel filter and the airbox has been modified for performance and also has a...
cant see anyone having done it before so seems like it could be a cool project, slight mods and it would be rapid, my 1.2 does 0-60 in 10 seconds with a video to prove and thats only with a modified airbox and panel filter!
jon with the 172 conversion had a 50bhp shot on his 1.2 16v said it was fukin rapid untill it blew a piston thru the block.
to be honest your talking about £800 to have it supplyed and fitted, if you look about you can buy a 172 engine for that, and if your handy and can fit it yourself then...
go atleast 60mm or nothing.
Ross went -40mm on his after me telling him to go 60mm loads of times and now he wishes he had went -60mm, heres a pic of his lowered...
heres a pic of mine lowered -60mm on the Apex Kit...
HERE'S a link to the K-Tec website where i got my Apex kit
ive done 122k on the standard gearbox oil might change it this weekend, but would be better waiting untill ive done the gearbox mount first so i can feel if the oil makes a difference as changing gears is a bit of a mission with this fuked gearbox mount lol
i cant get mine into first when...
