    First go at light painting.

They look very good indeed! Would love to have a dabble at stuff like this at some point. Liking the stance of your Fiesta in that pic - much more noticable than in your avatar. :) D.

    Insurance and modifications

It can get all a bit silly though. Orange alloys aren't standard from the factory this side of a DS3 or GT3 RS. So you spray them yourself and that becomes a modification to the factory standard - in the strictest sense. It depends how anal the insurance company in question is. D.

Gearbox oil do we bother ?

Mines had it's 4th lot since I've had the car from new. After the first swapout, the gearchange was SO much better. Shocks me slightly that so few people consider having it done. Gears grind and wear! ;) D.

    Ultra Red 200.

Re: Decision time. EDIT: Ultra Red ordered. Same length of time after I ordered the 182, m8. It passes quickly enough - and at least the nice weather will be here when it arrives. Mine car got delivered in early December - lolzfail. D.

    Same here m8 - same here.... :) D.

    Ultra Red 200.

Re: Decision time. Help required... White was cool in 1999 and still is now - get that - especially as you said you prefer it? :S Oh, and it's still homo-spec without the rear spoiler. Any RS200 is simply incomplete without one..... an almost there, but not quite. A fall over at the final...

Z4 - Perfect No More (Being fixed so it's all OK (Courtesy post#149))

Re: Z4 - Perfect No More FFS Rob - you must be absolutely ripping! Is it just bodywork though? They didn't hit your wheel or anything to feck up the suspension/alignment? D.

    Mass Effect 3

Downloaded the demo earlier and just finished it. Really looking forward to getting the full game now. :) D.

    Mass Effect 3

Good point. I guess the only thing that hurts is when you look at £30 for the game itself, then maybe £8 or so for the two or three DLCs. Then seemingly the entire bunch is chucked together in a GoTY Edition a few weeks later for £40, then it crops up in a Steam sale for £15, weeks after that...

few pics of my 500hp mk1 focus rs

As with most high-powered FWD cars, I suspect the performance is epic once rolling? You'd never really have a car like this for traffic light grand prix anyway, would you? That said, I bet it still has an appetite for front tyres - lol! Very nice. Love the Mk1s... D.

    Possible wheel bearing??

Could well be. Mine's doing it again and I'm only 99% certain that it's the bearing on the offside rear that's making the noise - as that noise stopped the last time I swapped out the rear discs! Part of the rear bearing setup is a little fiddly - and get that wrong and the bearing wears...

Taking the 172 on a 4500mile road trip, do I dare?!?

Jenic's got a point. I did just over 3k mileage in a Sprinter the other week over the course of 8 days. Admittedly, there was a break in the middle - but I was driving for 2.5 days at each end of that. And the Sprinter was pretty comfy when compared to the Clio. That was tiring. Pushing...

Taking the 172 on a 4500mile road trip, do I dare?!?

Go for it :) If I took the Evo on such a trip, it would need a service at the start and one when I got back. Not forgetting a second and third mortgage for the fuel alone. ;) D.

Original Senna helmet sells for £71,500!

Awesome. Surely that can only increase in value? D.
  19. Darren S

really? do people spend this much on an engine?

Aye. There's that Irish bloke on MLR that's sent 90,000 Euros on the engine alone. Love this ad for the Scooby when it says ".... three fuel pumps". Must be looking at 2-3 miles to the gallon at full chat. D.

    GAME (over?)

Shame to see them go - but online retailers and brilliant providers such as Steam have pretty much killed the store visits for me. Years ago, they were a great provider of rare PC titles - ones that you didn't find in a lot of places. But things have moved on since then. D.

    Hi pitched whistling noise?????

Good answer to finish off with! ;) Mine's always done it. I've just got used to ignoring it, tbh... D.

    Far Cry 3

2nd game was horse, once you looked past the graphics. Checkpoints wiped out and then re-populated with the same cannon-fodder 30secs later. Super-accurate shooting. Gormless AI. And bus stops. Bus stops, FFS? ;) D.

New nVidia driver apparently offers a 2x performance for ME3 in SLi. I translate that as "we fucked up on the initial driver...... quick, let's fix it" ;) D.

Quick Question Re reinstalling windows 7

This unfortunately. One of the reasons why I don't like upgrades - too much pissing about come reformat time. The last time I had an Upgrade OS was the Windows 95 Upgrade from Win 3.1 - lol. D.

Basildon - centre of the 197 universe??

Drove through there yesterday and in less than 10mins, spotted four different 197s? Shortly after, a silver Ph.2 172 and a 172 Man's Cup. D.
