i did my network+ as part of my HP Accredtations and thought it was ok, pretty easy.

on the philips it supposed to last about 30-60 mins i think, the backlight can be timed i think, also you can set the frame to come on in the morning and go off at night, its kept plugged in at my house.

thats why I am getting the HD-DVD addon for 360 and a PS3, best of both worlds plus having both consoles and all of it costing less than a blu ray player at the moment.

got my dad the philips one form amazon as they did a test on the gadget show and that came out on top, a lot of them do vids etc but as the philips only does pics it does them well, so isn't a jack of all trades but a master of one! Its simple, stylish and very good, he loves it! Think it was £120

thanks for that, very interesting, but doesn't explain why blu-ray discs are cheaper to buy than hd-dvd though, tking play.com and their rrp's as an example, the hd-dvd's seem to have a 19.99 price whereas the blu-ray are 17.99.

you must have some rubbish games then as my recent selection has been first class, COD3, GOW, TDU, Saints Row, Tomb Raider etc, stunning and very playable games. As far as car games go it doesn't get much better than TDU and as far as 3rd person shooters it doesn't get any better than GOW...

technically it is a better product, its using blu lasers though which are VERY hard to come by at the moment so thats why they are costing so much, hence why PS3 has been delayed and why Sony make a loss on every PS3 they sell. Obviously it will come down in price but it has massive backing...

i'm going to be controversial and say that i'm not feeling the game at the moment, the controls are not easy to get the hang of for me and i'm not enjoying it as much as i had hoped. I will have a rest and go back to it later and see if I get on any better with it. Currently though I prefer COD3

if you can only afford £390 then its a great buy and won't be beat but if you can afford 600-800 then i would get a samsung personally. (as I have!)

with aldi, they are actually pretty good with warranty, if they still have the product they just swap it for you and if not they give you a full refund. Does mean you might not get a tv back but all yhour money, which if it goes wrong anyway you might decide yto buy a more expensive one second...

the actual panel (screen) is one element and that might be a samsung one but its also down to the processor, like Samsung and Sony have the same panels but the sony has a different processor and therefore has a different picture, which one is better is subjective but they are different even...

its amazing the difference it makes, i went from not being able to read the text on the screen on GRAW to it being perfect on a HDTV, its worth the investment but you can still enjoy it without, just don't see it on a mates with one as you will not be able to resist

the great thing about live on COD 3 though is that it actually works unlike 2, i was playing last night with 24 players in one game and no lag!

just been reading playstation magasine on the PS3 and the new controller, it tilts in all different angles now but has one major flaw, no bloody shock! That is a big thing to not have in the controller IMO

no you don't need to format a dvd. to copy a disk you just need to download something called dvd shrink, once you have opened the dvd in that and burn't it to your hdd it will automatically open nero if you have it on your machine and burn it for you, if you don't have nero you just look for...
