When I had a total loss on my last car I just kept refusing their offers. Car was a bit of a heap tbh and they started at about £800, I eventually got around £1500 for it iirc. Don't know what to suggest besides denying their offers and keep pushing them for more.
Ask to speak to managers and...
Torque is said to be the cause of breaking gearboxes because its the only physical force that can be measured from a car engine. Hp is worked out from torque at any given rpm. This is the reason petrol engines have more hp than torque. They rev higher so they can produce more power from a lower...
I think the jr5 was the only box that would fit the 100. I'm not sure if the block is slightly different due to having a stronger crank or whatever, but iirc the jc5 doesn't fit it.
And I'm pretty sure they're still a solid flywheel, or at least I hope so as my clutch is needing done soonish.
Ah yeah, I was forgetting the 80's had those boxes. The 100 is the jr5, think they're limited to around 270nm and i'm sure that can be achieved on a standard map
Say this all went to plan and there was a method found to get 150-160hp out these engines, are the gearboxes not just going to sh*t themselves at that kind of power/torque?
Thanks a lot :D
The one's I got aren't listed any more but I'm pretty sure it was the same as these ones:

Another little update:
Bought myself a Fabia front splitter and some matte black plastidip this week, along with another batch of cleaning products! (Dodo Juice BTBM, Sheepskin mitt, drying cloth, iron x and some Megs tyre gel) :D I highly recommend the Meguiars tyre gel, simply because it's...
I'll see what I can do this weekend thenc it's the 2.0. If I can get any sort of read on the injector flow rates I'll try and get a data set while driving to hopefully get a rough max flow rate that they're currently running at. Better than nothing I suppose
What's the tdci pump you's are looking for info on? My dad's got a mondeo and program's for coding injectors etc. could see if it can read flow rates or anything like that if it would be any help?
Don't think the air con is linked to the outside temperature sensor so I don't think that would make a difference. I'd try the one in the roof panel. It has a small fan in it to pull air in to it so maybe that's not working or it's blocked with dust or something.
Cruise control sounds like the...
They do exist. Standard filament bulbs are halogen gas filled, but recently xenon gas filled bulbs have become available. Xenon is an inert gas and allows the bulb to run cooler than halogen gas does. This allows the bulbs to run brighter without running any hotter. These are still legal to run...
Flol, the bulbs the OP linked to on ebay are standard refelctor lense bulbs, filled with xenon gas. They're completely legal to run in reflector lenses. There's a big difference between a xenon gas filled bulb and a High Intensity Discharge (HID) bulb. I suggest you
get your facts straight...
I wouldn't get LED headlights. They're not suited to the reflector style lenses on a Clio.
HID's are a much better bet. Don't get a kit off eBay or anything like that though, it's illegal to fit these in the standard reflector lenses and will fail an MOT.
I've not done anything with it yet if that's what you're meaning. My plan would probably be to wrap it and the get a sticker for the top of it for the gear positions
Small-ish update. Ordered some carbon wrap which arrived yesterday so I did the usual and wrapped my dash strips
Thought about doing the door handles and the gear knob inset too. Not sure though!
Also got the new front discs and pads fitted last weekend and cleaned up my calipers too...
I thought the film would help to stop hazing, and if that hazed up you could just replace the film. I didn't know if you got clear film either so I just figured go for a really light tint, but I'd agree a proper sealant would probably be a better idea
