As a TB kit is nothing more than the the parts needed put in the same box, you could just go out and get the parts you need now. BUt a kit does make life easier and i buy mine in kit form bar sensors.

Bottom ball joints, top mounts, maybe as simple as a losse top nut on the shock tower, rod ends, worn bushes, rack mounts......get somebody to wiggle it and you look for the noise.

Just try a new bearing and give your hub to ren or a ren specialist with the tools to fit another bearing.

The goemetry you refer to isnt a perfect setting. Its arrived at through alot of testing on alot of surfaces, and is there to provide good handling with compramise.

All coil overs have adj seat platforms. Not all coilovers have a tender spring which is primarily there to prevent dislocation of the main springs in full extension.

In increasing severity:
Pinking (not pinging)......a slight metallic noise you get. Usualy caused by ignition too far advanced and the piston...
In most cases incorrect pad placement on teh disc, typically from the leading edge touching first and vibrating the pad.
Just do what Jay said, as the slides tend to stick on the front slide, it corrodes easier than the rears for some reasons, probably exposure.

its not healthy to drive about with a broken spring as its not sitting as it should.
i personally wouldnt, but you can pootle about relatively safely.
just replace it asap though
