check the rear spring location....maybe they put them in incorrectly or maybe they left out the rubber pad they sit on. Cant really help from here.

check that the asbestor fire ring isnt corroded and broken/crumbly. you just take it off and tighten it up, nothing scientific.

yup, the turbo will be easier to tune and a billion parts are out there already. But an extra 400cc and extra 8 valves with a turbo would be better.

your brakes are lucas girling! (u33db) And the 1.2 uses the same pads as the valver, which would be lucas girling.
