I dont know where your getting your info from but yes, superchargers are always spinning i.e moving air but its not always producing "boost" in the engine itself. It will only function under load and higher stages of RPM, the majority of the time the supercharger will yes be spinning but not...

Surley they arent that bad for fuel, its still only a 1600cc. Off boost it shouldnt be "that" bad?

I had a Phase 1 now a 182 - i can say without any hesitation the Phase 1 was the better car.

You can buy one, side near side or offside, its £25 a side from Renault IIRC. It is apparently adviseable to do both sides at once.
