look hard......i wouldnt pay more than 400 for a complete unit.
and milage.....since it is out id replace bearing shells and rings at the time just for good measure....dont want to have to take it out again of something goes wrong with them.
hmmm......the SX GTs that they originally came on are ok, not great.....and squeel for england.
WHen i had my mk1 i found it dynamically more fun, it was twitchy.......quite a fair bit more thatn teh MK2 which softened up a bit and lent itself to the less handy driver. THe MK1 rolls ALOT, but...
there is a heat sheld yes......get it to rattle and witha glove on.....push the silencer up or down...if its stops you;ve found the solution.
But also check the hangers jsut before it bend over the axle...they can tap and really rattle agood un.
im using a 15w50 mobil 1, level and quality is never a problem.....always run that high since ive used it......pressure is fine, but i might trya nother oil to see if its related problem.
thats more like it! haha....
but still.....a german peice of sh*te in a british car, AND TURBOS! ergh..and weight! pah.....
still think the quaife solution is best.
if they are all that low sounds like you havea common problem in all of them.
Youhavent touched it since? changed tha cam or anything?
Do a check, table spoon of oil down each bore then check again, if compression goes up, its your rings as they are temporarily sealed. If the comp doesnt...
fitting as JJ said is not anything to do with the actuall fitting, but since htey are testing it quite expensively i would assume that they would like to make sure each car gets the exact geometry changes spot on....as each car can differ slightly with the assortment of shims and bolts, but you...

As for baffling the sum and/or dry sumping.......are you getting any surge problems?
If not, dont bother. cant see a point.
on the track mine was running inbetween 110-115.......a bit higher than you really want to go but no probs....not tried another oil to see if it makes a diff.
try the coating thing later, and try keeping some throttle on (ill give a higer potentiometer reading) and the ECU wont think about cutting the fuel during the coast....
just that it runs virtually no fuel on overrun, and when at speed the engine uses the speed sensor to calculate the fuel...
we get a couple in like that, just replace it in a day....nothing major or expensive so they should just swap it.....unless they arent vey nice people.
sounds like the speed sensor......try just dipping the clutch and coasting.......if it stalls or holds a crap idle till to reach a standstill its prob the speed sensor.
or try driving with teh map sensor unplugged
take it off under load!!??
so your pinging off the limiter?
or do you mean whist coasting.....if whist coasting its usually the speed sensor behind the speedo dial.
map sensors are all the same so pick one up off another clio froma scrappy.
