Beg to differ mate, iv worked for VW since 1998 now, and i have found its quite common for air con systems to loose a bit of gas over time, check it out, most places agree, im taking a small amount, maybe 10% of the system in a year or so, thats why manufacturers suggest a re gas every 2 years...
After looking at the picture slide for a BDE lump, i will say same mate, the 2.8 V6 out of the Golf 4motion, why didn't i think of that before :S swear im loosing it...
It was so it could be mounted transversly in a selected engine bay fella, means they could make the Golf for example try to compete with bigger engined cars, and so it could be fitted into the passat and Sharan too
I think this is going to go nowhere, the higher the octane rating the better, so therefore super unleaded WILL be better for your engine than 95 ron, its been tested a million times over again, taking performance out of it, as there will be no if any little performance difference, super WILL be...
its all to do with making the engine run its best, we all spend ££££ to get minimal gains (filters, exhausts, cams etc) why not use the most efficiant fuel?
Iv tried an experiment, i ran my 172 on 95 ron, for 1000 miles, and then on tesco's 99 for a further 1000,( i didnt post this as i knew people would tell me im wrong blah blah) and the tesco's came back as making the car idle better, and made on average 3 mpg better, no real performance increase...
Its a different rocker cover thats all, it is a VR, cant tell if its a Golf/passat engine (2.8 engine code AAA) or the Corrado lump (2.9 engine code AVB)
Its the 1993 onwards engine though as its running a coil, in place of a dizzy
i have a ITG filter which i have aquired and fully cleaned, but it now needs re-oiling.
I have from a few years ago i re-oiling kit for a K&N 57i kit i used to have, will the oil for the K&N be ok on the ITG, bearing in mind the ITG is a foam filter and the K&N isn't?
Ta
