well i own a golf vr lightly tuned (chip, filter, coil overs) and speed wise doublt there would be much in it,iv managed tp pull past 182 but there wasnt much in it to be honest and although the golf handles well on the coil overs its a heavier car which u can tell if u chuck it around
iv seen that one mate, word of warning, williams engines dont like goin over 7k so urs revving to 8k i would be v v worried, unless the engines internals have been strenthened 2 cope
still welcome :)
just been to check out the clio again, still lookin good 2 have it,thing is tho it is flat as a fart,no go at all,no kick at 4500 like usual,i know its in dire need for a service but any1 think what else it could be? its just had full head rebuild and runs really well, apart from slight missfire...
my mate who has the stripped one has another 1 sat in his garage,95k full history,100% std wuth tax and mot, onlything it needs is 1 arch resprayed,700 quid.............
iv been thibkin bout gettin another clio and today my mate has pushed me over the edge,he let me out in his stripped valver and thats it i gotta get another one,so within the next few weeks i WILL have one lol
its then gotta be stripped and time for some real fun.........
if it goes away after few revs or mins its valve stem seals,if it still a haze all the time its rings both expensive, rings means rebiuld, valve stems means head off
the type of customers we have just buy on looks, they dont look after there cars tbh,and if ya got the 30 grand to pay out u got more to sell it and buy somethin else lol
oh bearing in mind that all the early mk4s have a different map to the later ones, and vw offer a rechip to up the power to the same as later mk4s so alot of magazines commented on how flat the r32 first felt, thats because of the map,we have done a few at work and it does make the car so much...
same with us at work mate,we have people coming in to say 'can u let me out in a new golf gti or r32'
prob is mate samesman dont see it as a sale, all he r32's we have sold at work were sols with out a test drive because the people who were buying them new what they wanted
i would say 15s all day long mate,u can chuck the valvers about and have soooo much fun on 15s and go with 195/50/15 tyres too,i had bf goodridge profiler g's on my hybrid and gripped like a cat to ur curtains lol
i work for vw so iv sampled both the mk4 and mk5 r32's and the mk5 is aloty faster, out on the road its a different ball game, throttle responce is amazing and with the dsg box its stupidly quick at changing
comparing the 182 to one is difficult, but against a mk4 i think up to anout a ton there...
if the insurance company or police looked into it mate they would find oit its 2.0 trust me it was done 2 me,luckly i had insured my hybrid as a 2 ltr so i was ok (i was pulled over and the car was checked over)
just do what i did insure it as a clio 16v with a engine change to a 2.0 ltr im...
is it below the minimum mark mate?
basically an engine needs oil for lubriation (to stop the egine running metal to metal) and also to keep the heat out of it too, running low on oil will mean a few things:
you possibly wont have enough oil curculating round the engine which means there is not...
i think its gotta be lol, just been and driven it,bit flat but it hasnt been used in ages and apart from n/s/r arch which has been sprayed a completely different colour than the rest of the car it seems pretty good
my hybrid had a rebuilt valver box thats all
i now have another plan guys!
iv just this sec been offered a cheap valver in blue with 98k on the clock std apart from braded hoses with loads of history and a recent head rebuild....
now what do we think 2.0 it?
