If its a 1.4 its definitely not a 1*2 of any description. You may have noticed when you put your foot down that you had nowhere near 172 or 182 horsepower (or thereabouts)

TBH I see where he is coming from. Brakes are not something to muddle around with. I think I took the appropriate course of action - took it to a garage then stored it at my rents house. Only driving it on a private road. ​Cant wait to just get it sorted!!!

Yeah bearings are fine on the rear. My new pads and discs arrive shortly so going to get those fitted and see if that changes anything.

I cant say I remeber the brake pedal vibrating. Its a cup so doesnt have abs..... does this matter? ​Can anyone in Bristol help me fit the new pads and discs? Can repay in interpretive dance.

Read the whole thread first. I took the car out on my own private road today just to see if incoupd diagnose the fault myself before getting the pads and discs changed. A piece.of gravel stuck in there or something. I did take it to a garage.

visual inspection yes. It was presumed it was rear brakes at the time for some reason. obviously im not so stupid as to take a car.on the road with fucked brakes. Its not a light squeeking its a loud grinding then violent shudders when it comes to a complete stop. I don't have the...

Thread ressurection; So, for some reason, decided to drive the clio up and down the drive (about a mile long) to try to see what the problem is. The grinding noise has got worse after none use with the car violently vibrating when i brought it to a full stop. Brakes also squeek now. All...
