your english is fine. people just make a bit of a thing about the timing being a big kept secret when using them. my advice though, go for cams designed for the engine.

think autodata is right apart from it not saying to use the pulley locking tool? could be wrong though as it's a while since i looked at it.
have you done k4m belt?
at 50mpg chances are injectors are ok? especially with it not being high mileage. they suffer with blocked breather pipework and shitted up throttle bodies though so worth looking there first.
you can't put it together wrong. it doesn't take much movement when you are adjusting it to go to far though.
if you go hard against the stop can you get 1st and 2nd ok?
there is a flat on the one on the left, push it in and it will slide off the stub. dead easy to do, if you break it you'd have to be a ham fisted scots man:wink:
take the dog bone bolt out and put it back the other way round, they can just touch on it and that can stop them getting in to reverse, also the bolt on the bottom of the gear stick can need trimming a touch sometimes plus make sure it isn't hitting on the exhaust tunnel.
