Id say mine is probaly worth about £2800 tbh
8 service stamps with 55k on the clock, its adored rather than maintained...!
But aye they have seemed to drop quite low recently :(
New and used cars are a lottery with regard to buying them.
Some will need gentle maintenance, others will cause no end of grief.
On the whole (although they all rattle) There generally reliable with only wear and tear items being replaced.
Man up and buy one
Fiesta ST is a great car, the build quality is superb.
Id say it is better on that front compared to the 1*2's (imo)
Id also say that it wont cost you as much to see 200bhp from the Fiesta as it would with a Renault Sport, the Fiesta unit is very restricted and with a few breathing mods it...
Are they different, i.e is the ride height of a phase 1 172 different to that of a standard clio?
Im almost certain that there the wrong springs i have on my car:dapprove:
Someone must know??!?!?!?!?!
£4000 will secure you a good example, just remember the Cambelt is essential on all the 172's as all are now older than 5 years.
If it hasnt been done, negotiate 5-600 off the cost of the car, you will be looking at this much to have it changed from a specialist
Did you ask how she managed to break free of the chains holding her at the sink?
Best bet is to take it to a garage and get a covering letter that there is infact f**k all wrong with the tyres an show it to the Police sgt
That took me 2 mins to find mate.
The best thing to do is find more than 1 to go and look at, setting a benchmark of what your after is a good start.
Put up a wanted thread of a 172, people might be intrested in buying if you have cash waiting...!
Its good that your not bothered about travelling for it (sods law one will appear in either John O'groats or lands end:o)
It all really depends on what your after aswell >

Whats low miles to you>?
My 172 is 8 years old and has just tickled 55k (i regard that as low miles)
To be honest mate, if its been looked after and cherished miles are nothing on the Renault Sports.
What variant are you looking to aquire? How far you willing to travel?
This might help >

I got alot of response from this as i spent a good 3 hours preparing it, it really made it worth while....!
Car reliability is an absolute lottery, you either get a monday morning car or a friday afternoon car.
If you look after it it should last, the interiors generally rattle but i think they all do that, atleast the ones ive been in.
I had a cracked rear coil spring so i decided to replace the two of them for the sake of keeping wear and tear equal...
The springs that went on were a little bigger obviously due to being worn (or atleast so i think anyway)
Could someone whose running standard 15" OZ F1's check for me the...
Never understand why people post threads on here like this, take a ribbing for it, then complain.
Some things are better kept quiet:o
Congrats on your fail though..
