Keep up the good work Paul - these updates are great. Id like to have the time, money and ability to be able to do something like this!
Youve saved a classic car from being run into the ground and bringing it back up to date. Id be chuffed just looking at the refurbed wheels everyday, let...
Ben H is right.
These lads dont sound like the type that just randomly think - I know, lets try and nick a car for fun. Theyve probably got tabs on something like a Cup and are stealing to order. The fact that there are four of them, kind of backs up how serious they may be. And the classic...
I have to say, with the external temp flashing away at -1 and barely reaching 0 by the time I got to work, the little 182 has behaved itself brilliantly. Obviously, no one in their right mind takes their car to the legal limits in this cold weather, but the composure over my ex 4-wheeled...
The Focus RS would probably be considerably quicker if they had fitted it with 4x4 transmission. It may have been a tight squeeze under the bonnet, but surely they could have managed it? Or were they reserving that 4x4 for the Holy Grail (aka Cosworth) model?
They do look good though and you...
I absolutely, decidely, 110% loathe and dispise car insurance - BUT - its a necessary evil that we all have to pay for.
The original post was very informative and a worthy read - the best bit imo, was the fact that many of the telesales people are nothing more than input clerks. They generally...
Same here - I sh*t my bricks initially. I thought the 182 was going to be a gas-guzzler. Takes a while to drop from full, then plummets to half, then takes a while to go further towards empty.
Dont trust your MPGs-to-go status either. The wifes Cooper S ran dry with 11 miles left. The annoying...
Mine was W rated from Rapid Fit at £130 all in. Couldnt find the V rated one anywhere, but like phunkey says - its not like we need a 168mph-capable tyre, is it???
D.
Just be sensible with it, Id say. Let the oil warm up - dont bounce it off the rev limiter and just take it easy. I must admit though, a few days after I got it, I blatted it onto the motorway and grinned from ear to ear with the power from 4,500rpm+ - very intoxicating!
You may not have much choice other than a publication such as Auto Trader etc. While you think you car looks fantastic, most people will be suspicious. It was exactly the same when I come to sell my GT - I got loads of positive comments, but no one would actually take the plunge.
I even took...
Evos great because they go further than normal mags and criticise cars that have too much power or miss the point entirely. Things like mad AMG ML Mercs or Beemer X5s with 3,000bhp - its like, errr, why?
One thing I thought was great (which they have now canned) was the buyers guide for true...
Evo is great because it shows you people who have the jobs that wed all like to have.
"Sorry, I actually get paid for ragging this Porsche GT3 all over Europe? Oh well, someone has to do it, I suppose...."
Bloody hell m8 - £120 each side?! I know the GT Turbo stickers on the side of Punto were on there for over 3 years and didnt peel.

On top of that, they cost me for £3 each side. A lot less detail/work than yours I admit...
Jeez - the Saxos arent that good. Most VTS owners just back off with the 182 - in case they get shown up. Pug 106GTi owners tend to be more cheeky though! ;)
A pleasant surprise was the Fabia vRS - that diesel wallop mid-range gives it some pace, but once the VVT on the 182 is on song, it...
I own a 182 and the wife owns a Cooper S. Id prefer mine anyday - the Cooper S is a poor-mans poser version of the TT - its not what the car can do thats important, its the badge and what the car actually is that means the world to most people. My wife loved it initially but shes wanting to...
Graham, first off, can I just say that its good to see someone who has the cash and buying ability for an Evo 8, considering a 182.
Personally, I would donate half of my anatomy to medical research if it meant I could afford an Evo. Ive been an avid follower of the Evos since the Mk.4 (not...
Not sure if this has happened to others on here, but Ive still got the adhesive backing on the drivers door cill from where a protective strip was placed during transport.
Ive tried to get it off with both Auto Glyms intensive tar remover and the bumper care solutions, but it only takes a...
Is the tyre really shot? I ran mine on 2 PSI for a bit - as long as youre careful. The nail was straight through the shoulder on mine, so probably not as bad as yours though.
No-one had the Exaltos in when I phoned around. Every place needed to order them in.... :(
