thats the really big one tho, the next size down should fit. They do one that fits the 1.6 so should be able to fit one to the 172.

clipping is quite easy to explain. Basically an amplifier produces a sine wave. This sine wave increases in size as you tur up the volume. Once the amplifier cant produce a big enough sine wave to produce the required output it 'clips' the signal. Basically chopping the top and bottom off...

dont drive a 17/182 but have eibach pro's and love them, definately gave a bug improvement in handling, and ride quality isnt much different.

springs first, eibach pro's or sportlines would be my recomendation
