i dont see why, this forum is for people to disucss things, if you dont wanna read it then dont bother it was quite obviously a Civic Type R compared to a Clio 182 post by the name of it, so if you find these posts boring why even click on it in the first place. people who make pointless...
my only problem with the vtec was it wasnt fun, it builds up slowly and u dont really knoiw its there untill the last feww thousand revs, by which time its very interesting.
the vtec was no where near as obvious as the clios 5k kick, infact, I found the vtec more annoying than anything else, it seems to build up slowly then a sudden small boost at the end of the rev range, making a very strange and for me very unpredictable power curve
Have recently test driven both cars, have to say the CTR is fooking quick in a straight line, but i had no confidence in its cornering ability, I felt i could drive no harder round the twisties then i can my current clio. Then the 182, and wow, much nicer car, definately more driver focused and...
ditto, though if you throw enough money at your 1.6 youll be beating 182s off the line!! The 1.6 16v is the same base engine as the super1600s and i just wish id known that and looked for a 16v!
lol, well he probably sort his cheapo backbox and ripspeed induction kit made his car faster than yours, that or he just wanted to see how quick your car was.
chavs seem to think if your car is 16v its faster than any 8v car, for example, boy racer in heavily modded 1.2 16v clio, pulls up along side me and says,"what u bothering wid that sh*t man, it only 8v engine lyk" which i ignored, untill i pulled away, then i blew him a kiss :D
Id say no to the ITG, alloys possibly. It is best to check. The ITG panel filter is classified as an OEM replacement unit, just like the ones you could buy from halfrauds, so doesnt need to be declared. The alloy, although are original, will have been modifed, they probably wont charge any...
CIS now DO CARE about mods, infact, they wont insure a modified car of ANY description, unless you already have a policy with them, found this out with my renewal.
ok, thanks for the advice. mods i have so far are - full stainless steel exhaust 2" bore with twin stainless steel back box. i also have a decat which i will hopefully be putting back on soon. What mods would you do next? i intend to get an itg panel filter soon.
