what? I have the gaz gha kit plus eibach camber bolts and about 1,5 neg camber from the bolts
ontopic: yep these are very good mods. I'm sorry I rushed into buying the k-tec mounts couple of years ago and not going for the ast ones. not that the k-tec ones aren't good-they are but buy the ast...
Re: My 172 Cup (T5MY G) Gaz Coilovers/Ktec mounts & decat! Back in a clio :)
bloody bad luck! I just replaced the front bumper 3 weeks ago and 2 weeks after I find the car scraped on the bumper corner under the headlight all the way to the front left wing! idiots!
Just fitted the de-cat today, it's much quieter that I thought, maybe because of the center section and the fact that milltek systems have a deeper sound
I wanted it a bit louder but after thinking a while I'm pleased with it as it won't draw as much attention and wake up the whole...
I've been reading pages on the subject and got more undecided (no surprise lol) if I should do it or not
I'm having the milltek cat-back exhaust, rs tuner remap and CDA air intake
Am I gonna have to re-map the car again if fitting a de-cat or leave it as it is?
Just want a higher pitched exhaust...
mine on 25k and 3 years on the car, no problems either. just the fact that when hot the left tail pipe goes off center and almost touches the plastic bumper trim :(
this happened after the 2,5" cat exit mod
^hence why I initially wanted some dedicated track day rubbers, but for now I'll go for something in between, out here it's harder to get hold of some used 15" r888 or the like, so I'm getting something like the rsr/ad08/r1r, etc
I didn't had the chance of going on a track so far because it's far away over the border and also I had no one to go with :( so I invested the money in the car hoping I'll have the chance one day. If budget will allow I'll get some tuition if available also.
I already decided against r888's and...
205/45 R16 but I got tyre scrub even with 195/50 r15 during hard cornering
mind you I had the bumper bracket mod at the time and the wheel arch lump cut off
30 mm lower on the front got me wheel rub so I wouldn't go lower than that. 30 mm is very visible, don't know the point in going lower than that even if the arches allow it
There will be 5 sessions (20 mins each) so the stock rubbers will get some action.
Of course this should be the normal thing to do but having the track 550 miles away(1100 in total) is hard to get proper driving lessons without spending a hell of a lot of money/year.
If I had the chance of...
I guess 20 mins of track action will eat t1r's. some friends went one month ago and felt sorry for going with street tyres
I may also get 15" federals if the 888 will be too expensive, for now I'm waiting for offers on them tyres
look for the powerflex poly ones, you'll never have to replace them.

beware there are no outer antiroll bar poly bushes for your car, but you should find the others
After some years of ownership and some 2,5-3k spent on mods I thought it's about time to do some track days this year
car as it is now:
milltek cat back(had it from 2009 and it didn't crack so far-happy with it)
k-tec solid engine mounts + poly dogbone
Helix organic gr n clutch kit
k-tec solid...
I've seen an oil test back in 2009, it showed the oil film resistance to mecanical force and the motul 300v was almost twice more adhesive to metal than a normal 5w40 oil. mind you the test was to show the benefits of running with or without oil additive.
The guy was testing castrol magnatec...
the safer bet is to run a performance filter in the stock airbox, not the original one as it's not washable. too bad k&n apollo, BMC CDA and maxogen weren't in the test as they're also very popular
and for £180k you could get 9 of those but I'd still get a 458 :); there are always better value/money options
I think the man likes the clio if he's willing to put 15k in it
remapped the car has 7500 rev limit now and even with itb's I wouldn't go over that, as I probably won't bother changing internals just for couple hundred revs.
anyway it seems the OP got his answer: for track use at least go for bodies
turbo clio, yeah nice (I've been in a 400bhp ph1) but the poor little renault box can't handle too much torque we all know that. one more reason to go NA tuning
sound wise hmm... one turbo vs 4 trumpets.. I pick number two ;)
My opinion: listen to the reasonable part in you then listen to the "child" and what he really wants and then do as the stronger part tell you. The important thing is for you to enjoy the car.
This could mean the 1 year savings for some one thrown in a super charger kit or smth. this may sound...
some small dents need to be fixed
rear bumper needs a paintjob
gearbox rebuilt
engine is cryin' for these: http://k-tecracing.com/show_product.asp?id=3633&appid=2
so not that much lol
