The 'Clios on Coilovers' Appreciation thread.

I'm asking this because recently I fitted some camber bolts and with 1,5 neg camber I can only fit my finger between the shock and the inner side of the tyre. was afraid that on coilies the spring seats could rub on that area. but that's probably only when you're really low if you say it's fine...

The 'Clios on Coilovers' Appreciation thread.

question: standard et 45 182 wheels + coilovers and lowered about 50 mm front/40 mm rear (with no spacers) and about 1,5 negative camber on the front will the tyres rub on the springs/springs seats on the front? I'm tempted on coilies but don't want to use spacers or use smaller offset wheels...

I know my numbers from here: http://www.powerflex.co.uk/products/Clio+II+%28inc+172+%26+182%29-426/1.html anyway, if you order from let's say k-tec and specify what 1*2 you have they will send the correct items

38 is ok if don't lower the car too much. and even lowered you can always grind the bumper bracket and get rid of eventual rubbing

Front suspension squeak - just over some small to medium bumps

the wishbone was ok, it was just the bush sleeve that came out. it needs to be welded to the wishbone to prevent that

    Fitted these washer jets

it's just one of those things who makes you enjoy the car like.... painted calipers? flat wipers? a carbon splitter? there are tons of little things and many of them have no practical use but still people do them. I guess it's human nature ;) and yeah I'm excited about fitting them

Front suspension squeak - just over some small to medium bumps

yes it isn't pretty at all, the outer sleeve came out of the arm and was rubbing on the mounting brackets, that's where the squeak was from (metal on metal)

    Misfiring??

I didn't wanted to open yet another topic as I have a similar problem: the car missfires and starts badly ONLY whel alot of moisture outside (fog, rain-generally late autumn and early spring months) every time the cure was to take off the leads from the coil pack and wipe them off, then...

Front suspension squeak - just over some small to medium bumps

well then check for this: this happened to mine. you have to weld the outer sleeve to the lower arm. mine began to squeak just like the OP said but initially I thought that's normal (heard that powerflex bushes do that..)

    which wheels

I would go for something light, it's gonna do good to the 1.2 engine
  26. ripp

Front suspension squeak - just over some small to medium bumps

try some wd40 or smth on all bushes and see if it helps. or if you have the time take off the lower arms and get a closer look to their bushes as I'm sure that's where the noise is coming from

    DIY Matched inlets

would be good to study a already matched inlet and see how much material and where from has been removed. but matching to the head and being careful about doing it you shouldn't go wrong

    182 ARB vs ph1 172 ARB

nope the 182 has 25 mm at the front (as you said) and the 172 has 23mm. I know this since I ordered a set of powerflex arb bushes to mine-it also says on the powerflex site
