Ahhh good times, cheers for that man! :)
Got another evening/night shoot lined up tonight at one of my places of work, but this time, instead of having no Tripod, I now have 2 as I have borrowed my sister-in-laws and the one I ordered has been delivered :)
Should be decent results this...
They are very very light scratches tbh, but I dont want anything ruining my picture quality.
Alot of stuff ive been reading has said that people only have them on to protect their lens's rather than for actual photo benefit.
I will invest in some proper lens cleaning stuff soon!! In the mean...
Me and Gray have been speaking about sorting some photos of our cars, so thought I might aswell open this up to everyone in the area, if you fancy it. ;)
We're going to go down to Dakota, just off Junction 27 of the M1 at the Industrial Estate on Wednesday Evening (not sure on time yet) to...
Noob Question. Number 1925834763956:
Is a UV filter necessary? I had one of my first noob experiences last night. I must have not put the lens cap on properly at last use, the the lens filter on the end of my camera got specs of dirt/dust on it. I then proceeded to use a heavy breath and light...
I got the Jessops kit for £530 mate. Pretty much sets you up, apart from the lack of a Tripod.
Like most people said to me, you'll probably regret getting a lower specced camera once you get into it and you'll just end up paying out more to upgrade.
I disagree ;)
When I tried both Nikon D5000 and Canon 500D in the shop, the Canon felt so much better, menu's better, layed out better etc.
Down to personal preference I guess though.
Thanks :D
I got the Canon 500D btw ;) which up to yet, seems fantastic. It was a toss up between the Canon and Nikon D5000. Had a play on both, but the Canon just felt that much better and was set out better for me. Still getting used to everything though, going to take me a while lol :o
Ahh sorry, misunderstood. Ill try again with the rabbit then in Av then, see what that comes out with :)
Yup, practice will be the key for this and fiddling about with everything... Ill get there eventually ;)
Dont think im doing too bad with my shots up to yet, after only having this for 2 days.
Right, thanks for that Giraffe. So Av as low as it can go for low light shots. Got it.
Yup ive found that out the hard way... :( Tripod should arrive some time this week, so ill get out for Take 2.
And regards to white balance, yup. Definitely agree. Will have a play about with some more...
Yea I noticed in Apple Chat, but it turned into a flaming thread, rather than getting real answers.
Ive looked at a couple threads that I found, but non really seemed to fully answer my questions, so it was best to make my own.
I put this in Technology Chat, rather than a section, so that both PC and Apple users can see the thread.
I think I am going to have to get a external hard-drive now I have my DSLR camera, as I am taking alot of photos and my MBP's storage space is quickly dropping.
Ive read that having...
On Lightroom, I used the preset of "White Balance", put that to "Auto" and then played about with the "Temperature" levels.
No, I think I am just shooting as JPEG atm?! Whatever is the standard setting, whilst I get used to everything and how things work.
Is the photo of the Rabbit ok btw...
Tripod should be coming some time next week, hopefully ;)

(Obviously a s**t photo, but just testing the white balance to demonstrate what you mean)
Pics down in the underground car park last night didnt go as to plan... Definately need my tripod to hurry up and be delivered. Alot of shots came out slighty blurred or not detailed enough. Will be trying again when I have the Tripod.
One that I took last night:

I basically used mine for browsing, youtube and email.
I then sold it as I wanted a MBP, because my laptop was knackered and I wouldnt be able to use the iPad to do work.
Im just new to the whole thing and dont really have any knowledge about photography, so any general tips, advice or any sort of feedback would be appreciated.
At the moment, ive only done the close ups as the car has just been sat on my drive.
Tonight, I plan to go and take some pics of the...
Been taking a few photos over the past couple of days. Let me know what you think. Advice on what needs improving etc?!
Im quite impressed, considering I know nothing about photography.
