Wahey, glad you've got a project up, I was a "lover" in the other thread and still am in this one. You've paid the same for a car as some do for a second hand engine, so just look at it as getting a free shell? LOL!
Get hold of some 15's, take the front bumper off and refit the headlights...
LOL!!! Vicky is all "It's never busy"
I think she may be wrong.....
I don't know the area, or I'd suggest a new plan of action. There must be a big car friendly pub or whatever around, I remember some of the essex lot talking about it before.
Just on here to say I may be a little late, am up...
Welcome to the club mate, the Mrs/Girlfriend thread was a thing of ledgend.
Get yourself a 172 and you'll find it drives well enough without stripping it!
Re: Eds ph1 172 - The soon to be controversial project!
Nice job so far. IMO, you're a bit nuts losing the f1's as they owed you nothing, but if it's all in aid of some slip streams, then fair play.
Glad the r888's are doing you well.
DAVVVEEEEE. Take to JMS please, Steve is going there in the morning. Let me know you see this, lol!
Much love :)
The paradas in the FS section are over priced though tbh, can get them on camskill for £20 more for the lot I swear?
Vish, damn you beating me to it, I need two new tyres...
I would have liked some standard f1's! I obviously wasn't paying attention to your breaking thread, nvm.
Dave if you could post it that'd be great, by the time I've done a 150 mile round trip to JMS to get them, I could have bought the things from Renault.
Do the most expensive/quickest...
Hey there mate, I had the exact same problem, I tried cleaning the throttle body, did nothing but then I changed a few things I was doing with regards to "cleaning" it and it sorted the issue.
What are you cleaning it with? I was using WD40 and learnt this just dries out or burns off.
I took...
Don't think I am mate, all a bit depressing if I'm honest (melodramatic I know) poor suspension is knocking its tits off, but it'll cost me the same in petrol as it would to get the btis new.... catch 22 much??
I can't be a chav, I have one of the best cared for ph1's ever ;)
66k miles, 3...
I don't think they'd need to weitec specifically mate, anything would do I'd imagine as they're not going to differ too much from make to make.
You just want the whole lower adjustment platform
But IMO, mainly an enthusiast-ish sort of person would pay that, a chav would just want something to go fast and not cost that much.
In my local area, I can honestly say I've never seen a chav in an RS, I think I'm pretty much the youngest person I've seen driving one.
Dan, I'd buy it. I'm serious.
Although tbh mate, I think you should keep it. It's a lovely car, get the niggles sorted out and just enjoy it, what you've listed that needs doing isn't even an afternoon's work and you know it!
If you actually use it as your car, rather than smoking around in...
Not sure I agree Alan, I think the only thing keeping them from being really abused is the insurance group, kids look at them in the same class as polo git's/106gti/saxos and when they go to cost up insurance, the increase puts a lot of people off, and I'm glad of it.
Even at 22 the ph1 was...
That's bloody awful!!!
Kick up a fuss in halfords, very politely, explain it's just wasted x amount of cans of other stuff, if you have the recipt, even better, and try to get some new cans to start again, at least the prep is done (the hard bit).
They're probably on his mate Jim's, brother's, best mate's, uncle's car at the moment.
So this post is constructive, I'd guess around 10kg for a full set of springs.
What car did you buy in the end? I remember you PM'ing me looking for one, but haven't seen what you bought. Pics and I'll tell you where to spend your dollar. First impression is try get yourself a set of recaro's, most worth while thing you could do IMO ;)
