Just put the polish straight on matey! Didnt even know you had to prep them... That guide off detailingworld didnt say anything about it.
Tbh though, I used the mild cutting pad to start with, and it was alright so I wouldnt worry too much!
Bad times!!
I think on Macs I get around 12.5% off because of my Uni so would have been great to get that off an iPad aswell!
Ahh well, just best hope I get enough monies ;)
Do people rate these then?
Its my 21st birthday in a couple of weeks so might be tempted to get one if I get enough money!
Will I be able to get university student discount off the apple store for it? I know I can with Macs, but dont know whether its just for computers/laptops!
After you've all gathered at McArthur Glen, why dont you meet me (and some of the other peeps) at J25 Trowell Services and then convoy down with the Yorkshire lot aswell. Have one massive convoy down>
Power Finish iirc!
Thanks for all the comments people! Really appreciate it :) .
Can I ask, apart from the CS @ FCS sticker, what is gash about the ones in the rear windscreen? I think the CS and i4detailing one looks good tbh!
Tbh, I was worried about that too, but I got on with it really well... I think you would have to hold it onto the paint for a loooong time to do some real damage with the Dual Action Polisher.
Yea really good, ive used them before. I tried using the Meguairs clay last time but thought that the...
Ill be washing it again on Saturday afternoon and then taking some QD down with me aswell so I can quickly go over it at FCS lol.
Also, the FCS sticker on the front bumper isnt permanent, just for the show :approve: Will probably be coming off next week ;)
A few weeks back I bought myself a DA Machine Polisher. Yesterday, even though the weather was terrible, I thought id have a go at detailing the car ready for FCS...
Started off with a wash in the pouring rain. Then tried to dry it off a bit.
Then clayed in the wet, only did this really quickly...
I was thinking here:
(Awesome Paint skills, y0!)
The only other place to put it is uder the "Clio" badge on the rear, but I think that might look a bit cack!
Thoughts?
What are people planning to do/take to FCS?
After 60-70 miles down the M1, think mine will have quite a few flies and crap on the car and want to make sure its clean at the event.
Will Meguiars Quick Detailer do? Give it a quick once over?
Its not too hard, I used a heat gun to warm it up to make it more bendable.
The hardest bit for me was getting the middle right (cutting the hole etc), which I did balls up :o Only noticeable really close up though!
Ive been sat looking at it at work, and im not sure whether to keep it on now...
Yea im not totally sure on the Tow Eye mate, but now ive bought it, it might aswell be on the car for a bit ;)
Pics of yours? Have you got a Flamer aswell?
No, got the bumper ones off someone on here called "Gib_244" or something like that.
Ordered me some 3M Di-Noc Carbon Vinyl t'other day...
Thought id do my front diamond to start with to see how it looks:
Before:
After: (also Tow Eye is on)
Its not perfect by any stretch of the imagination (made a couple of mistakes with it). But its only noticeable close up and its...
I drive quite good anyway... Ive only just been able to afford a 172, last thing that I wanna do is smash it up a few months later lol ;)
Will have to go back to the Conti's when these go bald!
Im not wheel spinning, its just sliding round every corner when wet!
Dont get 40mpg in a 172 gunning it everywhere ;)
Even going around a slight corner doing 20mph (which you could easily hit double that if not more if you wanted to), I was getting some sliding action!
Ahh right!! I think it is the T1-R's that are on atm... I think once these go, ill go back to the continentals!
Kinda s**t me up though, they are terrible in the wet. I havent been driving fast, and its been sliding!
When its been raining, my car seems to have absolutely no grip when going round corners...
Im currently rolling on Toyo Proxes with plenty of tread left so its not like they're budgets or bald. Are them tyres just s**t in the wet?
In my 1.2 I had Continental Tyres all round and it took corners...
