Maybe slightly more depending on where you get it done but still the easier and better option in my opinion. So we all agree then - the protective paint film, especially for a Clio, is a total waste of money. End of discussion, case closed!
No mention of the XXX wax on here.... have to say that I have been very impressed with the results, especially for the money. Anyone else use it? I'm a bit of a CG ***** these days :rasp:
Does look very slick. Rich, do you have an OCD by the way? Not being funny but I do and thinks what pushes to keep the car in good nick. Its not an option, it actually annoys me thinking of it not looking shiny! Anyone.... at all...?!
Exactly mate. On a £50k or upwards car maybe I would consider it, but paying £1k or more on a Clio just doesn't make financial sense, and like Alan says once the stuff gets damaged it looks rubbish. It's not like an invisible forcefield boys!
Save your money for a bodyshop. Heck, you could buy...
Yeh the sealing process is abit long and inconvenient in the winter with less light...been very happy with the M Seal that I have been using over the summer months but would like something quicker to use. Can someone supply the link please for that spray one please guys? Cheers.
Not really worth it for a Clio guys!! You could get aa lot of bodyshop correction for that kind of money.... keep your money, save it towards the Ferarri!
Fair enough! Just thought it would be a bit fiddly. I think the CS crew must have the shiniest set of hot hatches in the country! Really like the look of the Trophy too.... very much grown on me. Have to say the 197 doesn't have quite the sex factor of the 172/182s though.... just look a bit too...
Used it today on my mum's golf, two coats and have to say that it left a really good finish on there. Been using SRP and M Sealant on them untill now but this seems a really good finishing coat.... hopefully protect the wheels against all that gay road salt that gets sprayed on the roads as it...
My first car was a Ka (stop laughing!!!) I bought for £2200 on a R plate, 25k miles on the clock I think at the time, was about 5 years old. Sold it 3 years later with 40k miles, but looking like new, for £2k.....so £100 depreciation a year, pretty darn good!!
Hi
David how long roughly does it take for packages to arrive? Ordered on friday and still hadn't arrived today :( Just it came so quickly last time...
If the front wheels are over/ past the spill, and are not in a straight line (as I presume not if entering a roundabout) if you accelerate at this point the back wheels can skid round.... can't really remember why this happens, not the techiest of drivers. Short answer- don't speed in the...
Yeh, must have been something to do with the road conditions, cars don't just spin for no reason. Maybe you accelerated just as the back wheels were coming round? The short wheelbase of the Clio probably doesn't help though!
The problems with CSs is that no matter how good they look, they are built to have fun in! I must admit though cruising through town on a sunny day with a fresh layer of wax on does make the experience a lot more pleasureable than when its covered with dead flies and mud. I should really get...
Anyone own/ used one of these bad boys? Being Sony it is probably slightly overpriced but think it looks the nuts. Would wlecome some opinions on it guys.
Easy Pete, hows the R32? You will be pleased to know that the 172 is looking even minter than when you sold it to me! Just had to fork out for a years roadtax but still loving it! Got sat nav and a nice Sony headunit with iPod integration installed now too, its going well!
Thats the problem mate, I do!! Just played football today and got stressed when my mate got in the car dirty after I had spent ages cleaning it during the week. He didn't see what the problem was, then I thought "why am I getting stressed at my mate over a bit of mud".... is this me being a...
Definitely a skill, always maintain that a mediocre products but good process and elbow grease will beat the best products will poor application. If you can get great products AND technique your onto a winner!
Yeh, only ordered from there once and he gave me some really good advice for my specific car (Pearl Black 172 in good condition) as every product in the market claims to be the best and offer the best shine/protection/"flake poppin' " lol....
Good customer service is rare these days so I will...
...that all this talk about cleaning cars is a little sad? I know I do from time to time, getting excited about making the car look good, only for it to get trashed as soon as its taken out in the rain. I know for several of you its your profession/ something you consider a hobby, but sometimes...
Cool cheers for the link mate. The DB spray I used though has done well so far though, applied it about 5 months ago and still looks natural and has remained clean and colour doesn't seem to have faded.
p.s. That BMW magazine advertised is cool, get it free from work as I work in aftersales...
Whats the best weay of protecting the alacantra on the interior of CSs? Sprayed on some Diamond Brite interior protection a while ago, and think CGs have a similar product available now? Some interiors I have seen look really worn out, don't want mine getting like that.
