no you just have to remove the fuel rail gaurd to check (2 x 10mm nuts)

aye you can do, won't hurt, make sure the spacer goes back on the correct way, you're not meant to reuse the hub nuts

i wouldn't touch it TBH, that car has always been a pain in the backside!
