Apologies mate, worried I had become one of those members that annoys people by ignoring advice! ;)
Fingers crossed so far it's a million times better. :)
I listened to the advice, Although due to work and family commitments recently I wasn't able to take a day out to travel to a specialist I would trust (not the one on my doorstep that change cambelts with tippex) However I have found an issue, rectified it and it appears to have solved the...
Well, borrowed a soldering iron today, bought some solder and electrical tape and had a go. Was out hunched over the engine bay for ages and it just wouldn't work so gave up. Sat in the house moping around and thought I'd give it another go, and it worked!! All fixed for now and the car is...
I'm kicking myself for not getting this one. Tried to arrange a viewing before Christmas and for one reason or another couldn't sort it. Then I had to get my absolute shed and regret it even more!!!
Also worth checking the tdc sensor on the right side of the block. That is also one of the symptoms I was having. Mine was a possible dodgy aftermarket sensor and the wires being bare!!
I'm hoping it's something different really after the relative disappointment at the 7 (from me anyway)
I also really hope they iron out the issues with it quickly, people I know are only just moving to the 7 and are still taking them back for faults etc.
Apparently you can plug the hole with a bolt and cable tie the sensor underneath and achieve the same with the light going off. Although I wouldn't do that unless it was safely shielded from the elements. I never had a light on my 182 with a Decat so it's just random as to whether it comes on or...
thanks guys. ive pm'd @NorthloopCup and im also waiting for an auto electrician to call me back. if @MicKPM wasnt so far away and i could trust it to get there i would take it to him, but its not worth the risk of getting stuck miles from home. fingers crossed it will be sorted soon. :/
Fingers crossed someone can help and it won't cost a lot. I'm running out of money, patience and interest now unfortunately. Hope to get it sorted though asap as I'm stuck without a car.
It did do, but since disturbing it the gauge sways like a drunken sailor!! Lol
I would do if I had the ability, plus it disappears straight into the hard bit of the loom.
Think I might have found the problem and now I've barely got it running at all. Yes those are bare wires just as they enter/exit the wiring loom. Coolant sensor wiring too. :( @MicKPM is that something you've seen and dealt with before? Just wish you were closer!!
Getting to hate this car now!!
Just on the off chance I purchased and fitted a genuine blue Renault tdc. It runs a little better however touching the wires makes it cut out. Interestingly some monkey has been here before, the old tdc was a blue plugged spurious part and a replacement blue wiring loom has been fitted although...
Looks awesome mate, well done for getting it fitted. Though why not fit the drivers first then the passengers? I'd be jealous of any passengers sitting in the recaro before me. Lol
The 120 is also more reliable and easier to work on than the 150. The 150 are prone to the intake manifold (I think) breaking up where as the 120 doesn't have the problem. Only issue I had with mine was the alternator went, I managed to change it myself and I can not do mechanical things!!
Glad you got it sorted mate, and relatively cheaply too. How much was the tdc if you don't mind me asking?
The bulbs look good too. I ordered some 6000k which they had no stock of and was desperate so ended up with 8000k. Nice bright light but a bit blue for my liking. They are better than the...
Yeah please update this once you sort it please @rupes1351
If Mick was closer I'd be taking mine there in a heartbeat. I'll find the time to get over one day soon.
No problem, thank you. I need to find someone with clip or something that can read live data close by really. I can't see it being the lambda because since switching front to back the error which keeps coming up is now showing the rear one as a fault. However that wouldn't cause running issues...
