what number are you phoning? and what did you have to supply? reg? or VIN too? (i am working in london at the mo and want to check mine but dont have the docs with me? will they tell me just off reg?
i have experienced a bit of trouble with some dealers not wanting to do work because my mk2 172 is an import. Its a simple as this, either take it to another dealer, or report them to RUK. Nuff Said.
mine is exactly the same. 2.6K so far. Its going into Renault in about two weeks to have the front bumper removed, headlight completely changed, glovebox fixed, and wheel, brake and suspension checked on right hand side of car.
Sometimes when taking a right hand turn (or just turning right) i can hear quite a loud scraping noise (sounds like metal against metal) coming from the right hand side of the car (brand new 2.5K mile Mk2 172). Anyone got any ideas as to what it could be? (It sounds as if it is something like...
IMHO there is nothing to think about between the Cup and the norm 172, and if you can haggle a price with a Renault dealer or buy on import you can easily get a proper 172 for the price of a cup. Then youve got all the added extras for no extra price, sure if you get a cup sitting at the lights...
losing the leather is a BIG no no for me, the fuller 172 is so smart and nice inside, i couldnt give a sh*t if it is 10ths of a second slower, a fast car is a fast car, and i love my leather seats and air con to death.
for you reference TheBeast, if you are thinking of buying one from a Renault dealer, i got a good offer. I walked into Renault Liverpool and asked for a discount on a Clio Sport 172 (not cup) approx £14600 methinks, they asked if i had a car to trade in, i said no, they said oh good so i can...
ive been away from mine for 3 weeks now (having only had it a month previously) and when i first clapped eyes on it tonight i had a grin from ear to ear and i hadnt even unlocked it. Nuff said.
Seriously considering purchasing one of these, wondering if anyone has one? or has any opinions/experience of them?

id be careful if i were you mate, the sport badge is just stuck on but i believe the Renault badge isnt, im sure it has two sticks on it that go into holes in the lid.

Speaking from experience i would go for 17s and no more than a 35mm drop, the 17s look so much better than 15s or 16s and give more grip, and with a 35mm drop the car will be quite good to look at, i originally had mine on 35mm Eibach Springs on 17s, then i went for 60mm on the same 17s (after...
mine is 2400 miles, so far:
radio taken out and radio code ordered for (Reno had no clue what it was)
drivers door taken apart to fix window fault
trip computer not working
glove box needs to be fixed
headlight needs replacing (involves complete removal of front bumper)
chassis...
i had my 2000 clio lowered 60mm on 17s and the car now needs a new wheel bearing, something to bare in mind, IMHO the car cannot take 17s with that big a drop.
