Really long arms and short legs maybe? ;)
On a serious note, another mod you could do to make a HUGE difference would be to paint the drums and calibers black, if not then just paint the drums, because rusty rear drums on show look baaaad!
Cheers, its only a few mm difference between the two so i hope it'll be fine. I cold probably squeeze the 2" one on, but i wouldnt wanna have to slit it a bit or anything.
I'd go for a decent brand if it were something other than a 1.2, i dont think any will make a performance difference, just...
Scrap that, please help! I tried to measure the interior diameter once more and cant make up my mind, is it better that these are very tight? Or better that they slip on and then can be jubilee clipped up nice and tight?
Don't i know it, they are like rocking horse poo second hand it seems! Hopefully a few people would be interested in the 1.2 versions!
And yeah i thought it being a sport might make a difference! Damnit!
Is it lowered already Ian? Mine being a 1.2 sits so high :( i have the same wheels and it looks rather tractor-esque!!!
P.s was gonna try set up a sportline group buy soon, would you be interested?
No. You need a torx screw driver (preferably a few different sizes as no one seems sure which size it is) Not a difficult job. Easiest way to do it would be look under your car, and see what you need to get yours off, or just try to take yours off, see what you need, as it will be the same.
I'd actually disagree, the filter i've shown in on of my other threads (just a stupid halfrauds thing) was nice and loud when giving it some, and for most who get an IK thats what they want. Personally the drone of an exhaust on a 3hr motor journey gets annoying, but a nice roar when you floor...
I'm no painter but i didnt think that you'd need to primer this? I thought you could just apply the filler, sand right down, then key the paint with a relatively fine grit and paint staight on?
After going back to a standard exhaust i am missing having some noise... so i'm going to buy myself another IK for the 1.2... I'm not looking for gains i just hope that as long as it has a decent CAF i wont lose power.
So to the question....
I was just wondering if different style IK's will...
I know, i live in quite a nice area too! Pretty sure i've seen the lad who took it once as when i drove up behind him he started booting it, i followed him for a while to see if he'd stop, (thought he may just have been a boy racer wanting a bit of a laugh) but then he was going round in circles...
People will tell you that you get what you pay for, but if you see somewhere which has done good quality work, or when you go down there seems very professional then i wouldnt shy away. At the end of the day if your not happy with it and have a valid point i'm sure the place would do it again...
Tbh mate i cant remember how i did it, but i have a very early mk2 ph1 so it has the same engine as yours, and i had an IK on there just fine, i'll have a look at my engine for you tmrw and figure out how i did it and let you know. Its easy enough though, as i'm no mechanic.
Lack? On my 8v it was crazy loud compared to a friends 1.4 polo and another friends 106 gti! Wish i''d never got rid of it!!
On topic: Looks MUCH better than the orange brush painted one! Also glad to see you got a CAF to that induction kit now! Made a difference?
