Let us know how your Raystorm install goes, installed mine and 3 out of the 4 screws werent threaded properly!
I threaded them as best I could, and its on tight - I should have sent it back but in all honesty couldnt be arsed. Won't be fun if/when I remove it, hope yours isn't the same!
Looks good, weird to see that XSPC 360 rad has the ports on either side, not seen that before (I've seen ones where you have stoppers and you can choose, but never only 2 holes in the opposite directions).
I wish I'd of done a build thread, oops.
Good shout on the D5, best pump you can get...
Mine came with 182 maps when I bought mine secondhand, they were earlier maps that werent locked to any car, so it was easy as pie!
You can see all the ECU version etc when you plug it in, so there's really no risk.
Playing games or normally?
Eyefinity games it will struggle, but playing games in 1 monitor and having stuff in the other 2 should be ok.
I ran 2x 7970 in Eyefinity playing games, it ran "ok", but really it's just a gimmick!
290X info released today, smacks up 780's and Titan's in various benchmarks, for MUCH less in price.
Tempted to pick one up, problem is I don't see anywhere with waterblocks in stock atm :(.
OcUK sold out pretty much from their preorders, and waiting on Scan to get the MSI in stock - it's the...
boat spelt with a t? :p
And while I'd agree, it's PC hardware now, and they develop on PC's, for PC architecture, so now-a-days there really is very little optimization that's needed specifically for the hardware.
Either way that's my view, and my preorder is cancelled for now, I'll probably...
So I've been reading up a bit, from a guy called CBOAT (if you've been reading up you'll also know of him).
He's put some worrying issues to light, mainly the one that most (apart from Forza) games won't be 1080p, and will 720p upscaled still :(.
Apparently the tables have turned as well, with...
Doesn't matter too much, as long as the res is before the pump as above. At current I am: Res -> Pump -> 240 -> CPU -> Mobo -> GPU -> 360 - >Res
In all honesty it makes no difference realistically, so just go where the loop is the cleanest/shorest, as said anyway, the temps will even out so it...
For a 7990 or a different card?
Single card I'd say 360+140mm for decent temps (GPU+CPU), if it's a 7990 expect basically dual GPU temps, so I'd go 240mm for sure.
If you need to "pipe" it in, you will need 2 extra fittings (for the radiator), and bit more tubing. I'd also recommend picking up...
Ok cool cheers, easy :)
I think it was Primochill tubing, 13/10mm (my normal sizing), straight from OcUK - they dont have much of a selection there but they had what i wanted!
You have passed initiation to the CS Club, how may we help?
Do you have any better photos? Have you tried cleaning it to see how bad the match is yet?
We need moar info!
Comes with a front filter yeah but that's only for the 360 rad. I figured I wanted it as dust-free as possible, so just bought the pack, they're expensive but look like they'll do the job nicely, and all fit perfectly.
Last pic from me, all finished now (for now, maybe a 290X when theyre out):
They're all EK fittings, mixture of normal, 45 degree and 90 degree ones.
I have the older (and imo nicer looking versions) of these http://www.overclockers.co.uk/showproduct.php?prodid=WC-363-EK&groupid=962&catid=1529&subcat=2582
If you need any silver/titanium coloured (EK ones also) let me...
