Yeah you have to rev the type-R's a lot more to get the powerband, something which although is find is a tad annoying, part of the reason I also went to a Clio.
My dad has one of the newer Type-R's (FN2 I think?) and I've gotta say, I'd choose my Clio any day of the week.
Never had any whistling either.
My clips have come off on one side annoyingly, and the double sided table has slightly come unstuck - looks like I'll need to find some more clips and more tape!
You may actually fine the mobo doesn't like a new CPU in, no idea how strict Dell are with their crap, but it could be a possibility.
Anyway, a Q6600 and 4gb RAM would be my choice of upgrade for £100, perhaps an aftermarket cooler as well to get some clocks going.
I know a couple of people (3+) who had boxes fail early on from new, and on this forum when the 197's first came out there was a load of talk about how crap the boxes were.
Oh how people forget ;)
Looks like you'll need a new motherboard as well so a new CPU is the right socket, you'll be looking at about £300 for a decent i5 setup.
As you've said above though, go for an i7 if you do encoding, you will notice a ton of difference over the i5 with the hyperthreading.
What's the problem with stitching together? The competition says Photoshop/whatever is allowed, so even if he photoshopped a giant penis running around the track then it could still be valid.
More to the point, where is your entry A_Cro?
So I've been searching around on the forum, but can only seem to find posts useful for a Roof Rack.
Are there any boot racks that will allow even just a single bike? I'd rather get a boot rack rather than a roof rack.
Obviously I don't want it to damage the paint etc, but I can use cloths etc!
