That will just knacker your shocks, unless they're doing custom height shocks as well it doesn't sound very custom! (More like they are just chopping your springs/pre-bought springs) If you want lows you need coilovers really!

The i5 is 2 cores hyperthreaded to 4 cores (2 real 2 virtual). The i7 is the setup up having 4 cores with hyperthreading (4 real 4 virtual) So it purely depends if you'll be doing any CPU-intensive tasks as SamP said, some heavy video/photo editing and stuff like that!
