Snow foaming isn't washing. It's pre-washing and will never be a substitute for contact washing.
Bare in mind, the more you wash your car, the more likely you are to incurr marring.
Depends. If they are still warm (unlikely) then it can go through protection. But will do very little to paint work. Claying will sort anything mildly heavy, fall out wise.
Other than that, they're just a pain in the arse. Treat them like bird droppings, get a washer/hose on it as soon as you can.
