If you HU is any good it would have a yellow cable too with something like "Tel mute" written on it, you connect this to the handsfree units yellow cable and when you get a call your HU will mute.

You should be able to buy the parts direct from renault. dont know how expensive its gonna be though, im sure the part numbers were posted up on here before.

If you still got the warranty then get renault to replace it.. why pay if you can get it fixed for free.

Just to correct a few things, The xenons have no filament as such so they dont burn out, they will stop working though and need replacement, up to about £120 for a pair of bulbs but you should be able to find em cheaper. Xenons are gauranteed for 4 or 5 years, cant remember which exactly...

Does that mean if the ABS develops a fault, and the ECU disables it because of this you will have 50/50 distribution ? isnt that a bit dangerous if you have to stop .. eg. rear end swinging out ?

Well enjoy your sex wee;).. but its down to personal taste, equipment levels really arent that different between the mk1 and mk2 172s, although over 50% of the parts were changed or modified. If you like the mk1s get a mk1.. otherwise get the mk2. Personally I prefer the mk2 but can see why...

Common problem with 172s, no fix from renault but nothing really to worry about it just the rear pads sticking to the disks, and they release when you start to drive away, shouldnt do it so much during the summer.

If its a 172 you want get the dark blue, or get flame red which is nice...

colour code, clear repeaters if it doesnt have them already, silvervision bulbs, alloys, lowered at least 20mm, nice exhaust system..

Well that aint abs thats for sure, ABS doesnt make you stop slower lol, the brakes are really sharp on my 172 and the ABS only has any effect if the wheels lock. up till that point they are just like normal. Maybe there is some debree on the disks .. oil/brake fluid or something ?
