Strip out rear brakes, clean everything up (removing any rust build up) and put back together. Hoepfully that should sort it.

Do you mean that she is lumpy on idle? Do you find the engine smooths out at about 1000rpm? Does it sometimes feel like she is hiccuping?

I think they are already charged and ready to go. I really would put the other cars battery on first to check that is what it is first though. You will be cursing like a fucker if you buy a other battery and that isn't the problem. Get the battery off and put the other cars one on. Check earth...

I agree. If it was the battery it should have indeed started if you jumped it off another motor. I gather you did give it a large boost before trying to start it off the other car? The only other way of testing if it is the battery is to take it off and put the known good one from the other car...

Does that not depend on whether you have individual pencil coils or a coil pack though? I only had two replaced because two went at the same time.

That's pretty good. I think my 1.4 used to do roughly 40 mpg, but I was a little unkind to her and ragged her quite abit. :o

She's doing an average of 33mpg and most of that is urban driving. I don;t do motorways unless I have to. I hate them, too many idiots about. lol

I used to have a 1.4 8V RT Alize, and that wasn't exactly slow, so I should imagine the 16V is even better.
