It's an expensive time of year to have to be spending lots of dosh on your motor, but I guess these things have to be done. Safety first and all that crap! lol
My car's on about 15k plus a 100 or so. It's still on it's original brakes . Had them tested for her 1st MOT in June and they weren't even half worn. I'm on my second set of tyres though. Would have been just front ones, but I got new and bigger wheels, so had new tyres all round.
I don't trust Renault Dealers at all. I remember when I had my 1.4 and the gears were getting abit of a bugger to change. I took it into Renault at Guildford and asked them to adjust my gear linkage, to which the guy replies. "It won't be the linkage madam, it will be the gearbox. They don't...
Sounds like you were lucky you got them so quick, but then again it doesnt sound too good having two fail on you either. I dont think I like those odds much. :S ~Keeps fingers crossed for Hubbys kit~
Well thats where we have a problem as there are only limited kits that will actually fit the 2ltr 16V Megane. Hubby wanted Eibachs like I have, but they dont do a kit for his car, so he had to get what he could. I really hope it will be ok as I dont think Hubby would fancy waiting months for a...
What, no thoughts at all?? Surely you guys would not be too impressed if this happened to you. Would you? I am a pretty patient person and my Hubby has the patience of a saint, but surely this is pushing it quite abit. Isnt it?
I am about to have a major moan about Apex, so all those who don't want to know about it, change threads NOW!
My Hubby ordered an Apex Sport Kit for his 2ltr 16V Megane Coupe in July of this year. (at a cost of £270.00) He ordered it Via A1 Motor Stores, who are incredibly helpful and have...
Sod trying to clean all the sticky stuff from the post it notes off the car. I'd go mental if someone did that to my car. Looks kind of sweet though. Bless. lol
Hubby and I have 3 cars between us. I have my Clio, he has his Megane and we have a little 1.2 Clio as our runaround. The problems with having 3 are;
3 x Insurance (although we get a discount for having 3 with the same company).
3 x Tax
3 x MOTs each year, not to mention parts that any one of...
DO the Police tell you at the time they stop you that you have to have it tested and approved by a garage? If not that's abit off as most people wouldn't know that, infact I didnt.
Yeah but why pay garage prices when you can do the job yourself and all for the price of a bulb? Then all he has to do it gather up his docs, drive to the Police station, show them the doc, take them outside to prove light is fixed. They will then sign and stamp that it has been fixed and away...
Why the hell cant you change the bulb yourself? It's not exactly hard mate. Bulbs arent exactly expensive either. It'll take you 2 minutes to change a bulb, then off to the cop shop to show it's been done. Job done, no worries.
Fair comment mate, they are a bugger to clean. We all have different tastes and thats what makes life interesting. I am definitely liking you car though, she's a real head turner. Nice work mate.
I had to drive mine up onto a recovery truck last week. The recovery guy said I didn't have that much clearance at the front when I reversed it off and it was near the end of the ramp bit. I hate to think what might happen when I get my body kit done then. ~Keeps fingers crossed that nothing...
Wow! I absolutely love it!! The colour is amazing. I like the rear lights, but then I am biased as I have lexus rear lights too. I don't like the spoiler much, but each to their own I say. I do kind of like the wheels but I reckon she would look the mutts nuts with some serious multi spokes on...
I have lowered mine 30mm on Eibachs. So far I havent had any problems with my local garage but I might find there could be a problem once the body kit is fitted as it might not clear the ramps. The main problem will be with the lip on the rolling road when they do the brakes test. I guess I will...
Yes it does sound like that, but if you get no joy with them, get the OFT involved (officer Of Fair Trading), he will then tell you that the part was not fit for its intended use and therefore should be replaced, and the fact you had no choice to get it done where you did has no relevance...
You can get you car serviced and have any warranty work carried out by a garage that is authorised to do such work. They don't have to be a main dealer. I got my service done at my local garage. The handbook tells you what has to be done on each service and what bits to use (oils etc) and as...
Well Hubby says his car has a direct cold air feed straight from the front of the car through the grille, it doesnt go anywhere near the manifold. His car is totally standard (apart from the wheels). He has a Megane Coupe 2ltr 16V.
Another thing I have just thought about; dont cars have cold air feeds to pull in the cold air to make them run better? (again don't know the technical reasons behind this). Surely cars wouldn't have these if they run better on hot air? Am I just grabbing at straws here?
I dont know all the technical reasons like the other guys on here, but I do know most cars (including mine) run loads better when its cold. The only advantage to running it in warm weather as far as I can make out is, I get slightly more mpg when the weather is hot. I presume this is because the...
