Well for the new clios the 1.2 seems very light.. way to light IMO the 172 mk2 feel much heaveir.. if you could imagine the 1.2 without power steering that is what the 172 is like while driving.. except when your parked its heavy but not really hard to turn .. if that makes sense.

Hmm, if he can prove that there was somthing defective with the braking system then yes renault should pay for it.. but if it was all down to heavy breaking and wear and tear then I doubt you will get renault to fork out for it.

Good, Its deffo much better on fuel.. I was averaging over 40MPG in the 1.2, on my 172 it is normally just above 30mpg Suspension is a little too soft, and after 60mph it kinda looses it.. but all in all a great car, I miss having a sunroof a little bit now. was impressed with the equipment...

well my speed said 145-146 and my GPS said 143.. so I would tend to believe the GPS more than the speedo.. which means my speedo was out by 2-3mph

You have to ask yourself.. as stated before how can a 172 owner be jelous of the Cup ??? If I really wanted a Cup I would sell my 172 and buy one. Then go on a world cruise with the remaining money.. or maybe I would spend that money on some new seats.. climate control... aircon.. heat...
