I'm in Berkshire mate, near Reading. I took my car to a local garage my dad knows and got a service for £70 which I thought was reasonable. But only parts I've ever had changed are for cambelt 2yrs ago which came in at £170, so no real idea of price parts if anything goes wrong.

What are the prices of parts like for a ph1 172? Won't be buying from a main dealer unless I have to. Are RS prices a lot more than standard parts or VW parts as a Golf GTI 1.8T is another possibility? Thanks
