Doesnt the Renault manual suggest using tipex marks on the cam pulleys so you know when its spun over once to set the belt tension?
I had tipex on the crank pulley of my old one, and on the crank itself, Lol
Surpsprised the garage didnt sort it for you.
But I guess they charged you for a re-gas anyway? Di they say how much gas the recovered from it in the first place?
If you bridge the pressure switch and the compressor clutch clicks then its either the pressure switch faulty or low gas level.
The pressure switch stops the relay activating the clutch if the pressure is low (so you dont shag the compressor)

Gray taking it too the extreme tho, they go much better with a gearbox in them
cant remember exactly coz weve changed it a few times but i think they start to come on at 6,200...... are all on at 7,000 and flash at 7,250 ....... limiter is set at 7,500 iirc
bearing in mind we have never had a new set of toyo's (always other peoples cast off's) im not sure its a fair comparison.
But they are much softer and have good amount of grip. Surprising how much we have needed to change the setup tho to get the best out of them and still miles off
