Not without taking off the belt, and once a belt it off, the lot needs replacing...... unless its been done VERY recently, then you could get away with just a belt. But the labour is still all there

Could that not be a case of timing out so not sparking at the right time meaning its over fueling? I would be doing a leakdown test before pulling the engine out
