It's not quite that heavy...when I took my front carpet out with all the underlay etc. it weighed 12 kgs - still almost half as much as a seat. Most surprising thing for me was the headlining...6 kgs in that wispy piece of foam!

The VVT works at 1,300 or something and is for idling control and emissions only apparently. What you get at 5k rpm is the engine coming into its peak volumetric efficiency rev range, everything works as it should, and you get a nice shove forwards.

Yes. Turn the ignition on and off 4 times in quick sucession before locking the car...you'll hear 4 beeps from under the bonnet meaning the car is locked and alarmed, but with the interior sensors disabled.

That's bang on, 1.2s rock, you can drive the wheels off them everywhere you go. With a long enough 5th gear they can nudge 150mph as well.
