Well as for ECU being a rare problem I would have to disagree as mine was a 'kin nightmare to live with and I was quoted £300 for a new ECU, a guy I spoke to also said that he has had to replace ECU's on quite a lot of clio's too. G4Z the car does have petrol in it doesn't it? You might laugh...

Well he took it in for it's MOT as it was due to expire soon and the mechanic said it was the OSF disc so he replaced it and all seems well now, god only knows how he managed to damage a brake disc.

Try rotating it once you put it into the socket as mine wouldn't always work when I just shoved it in. You have to show it some TLC.

Everything except the first and last bit. I have to turn it to position 3, return, then back to position 3 and the buzz then sounds, then turn to the last position, engine clicks and starts (sometimes) otherwise I have to lock/unlock and try again.

It depends what colour your car is matey call Renault if you are unsure and give them your reg they will tell you exactly what colour and code.

Yeah mine doesnt do that every time i think that has something to do with the startup problem.

Yeah go for it pal I've blasted mine a few times nothing extensive though just a quick going over and the paint is still holding so I wouldn't really worry about it.
