Cheers. I’ve got a few choices when it comes to wheels. I’ll be using the TDs for circuit but probably go back to my Turinis for road use.
This was a picture of the car when I put the AST’s on the front. I’ll get some proper pictures when I get it all set up, but these are straight out of the...
Small updates.
Bought a new exhaust flange off @16v_paddy then took it to my local exhaust centre (Sadler's garage in Darlington).
I was more excited about this job than pretty much all my other work. I’ve seen so many cars going home early on trackdays, that I’d be an idiot not to do mine...
Currently, I'll have to get 11k for mine to get a ROI. And I'm still spending on it 💰
🤦♂️
I'm just going to drive and enjoy mine when the sun's shining. Somebody can take it off my hands when/if I'm finally done with it.
I've thrown more money away on R's, N's, GTi's, tbh
There are still too many 1*2's on the road in poor condition. Once these vehicles are either written off, converted into track cars, or broken down, the number of cars in good condition will naturally decrease. As a result, the lower mileage cars will become more valuable and command higher...
I considered ringing a few Simon, but the guy was so bloody nice and professional I just handed him my card :ROFLMAO:
Peter was his name.
My last 2 182's have been with Greenlight. The lad I normally deal with wasn't there. I didn't like their attitude.
I've always insured my modified cars with Greenlight, but on this occasion tried Adrian Flux and the lad was brilliant.
Greenlight were like "that's the price for today, ring back tomorrow and it could go up, do you want it yes or no". No, thank you!
Apparently, my 182 isn't as modified as...
Looks like a nice car in that picture. Worth saving. Good engines are stupid money now, but they do come up every now and then for sensible money.
If not, you should be able to get decent money back from the parts, so not all bad.
I used to run - 3.4 on this beauty. I never touched the rear wheels at all, in fact, it still has the original factory bushes in the rear beam. The backend used to twitch, but always corrected itself. It was quite predictable in that respect.
It used to go to CMRacing, Rob Boston Racing and...
The power steering pump sits lower. See illustration. You need to bend the pipe in order to fit so go very carefully as you can snap them. A standard 172 cup radiator will fit.
I fixed one of mine with these. https://www.toolstation.com/led-ip65-flexible-strip-light/p43662
But sometimes it can be as simple as a bit of corrosion, so a clean-up with contact spray might fix it.
If not, you pretty much strip off the old diodes and stick the stip over the PCB board. It's...
Or something like this https://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/292057025981?mkcid=16&mkevt=1&mkrid=711-127632-2357-0&ssspo=JRoQT2zVSdK&sssrc=4429486&ssuid=Unwx-nP3Rjy&var=&widget_ver=artemis&media=COPY
I dropped Ron a message earlier. I can get a small refund but would rather see another member get them, (if possible) than take money back from the club.
I'm moving in another direction with my car, so won't be attending.
I have two nights booked at the Premier INN Bangor (Gwynedd, North Wales) which includes breakfast. It cost me £234.
I also have a full weekend package booked including full-day track sessions (both circuits). Again the cost...
If it’s dry with decent track temps, you’ll get half a dozen good laps, then they’ll start to overheat and slide around.
Ive used all the Yokohama family, this is what you’d expect from each track tyre.
AD08R - good novice circuit tyre. Good for half a dozen dry laps before going off. They...
