Exchange calipers were the solution for me.
Something like £45 a side from Renault - although I've always managed to find myself a low mileage set from someone on here who's upgrading.
Has your car had a hard life/lots of track use?
What's the mileage?
I wear out the mounting bushes on front calipers every 40-45,000 miles - which allows the smallest amount of movement of the caplier when everything's hot, giving a rumbling noise which sounds like what you're getting?
Never been to any tracks oop North yet; almost did Oulton in Feb, 'til it got snowed off.
Can't wait for the 'ring though. I think I'm ready for it now.
Wouldn't want it on an OPL day, but when sessioned, if you put yourself forward for the advanced group I think you should expect people to drive like that - see an opportunity to make progress and take it.
We all have mirrors so should know all the time where everyone is, and so long as...
LMFAO at that.
I've never been out there yet...but it looked like he was early apexing almost every corner, so had to tighten up his line at exit giving him power understeer with his crappy cheap tyres.
That's not on limit driving either, it's just plain s*** driving - anyone can make a car...
It's a guess Tom.
From fully fitted, to this...got to be 46kgs taken from there - the lower seatbelt mountings and speakers alone are almost 5kgs. Then there's the parcel shelf, seats, all the trim, the screws...
A standard FF 172 would need 203bhp to get to the bhp/ton ratio my Cup (975 kg + 179 bhp) has :approve:
Weight is the enemy of everything...not just straight-line speed, but fuel economy, tyre and brake wear, handling etc...best thing you can do is remove weight.
Grill's better, bonnet's better.
Spoiler wouldn't look too bad if it at least matched the profile of the roof toward the edge. Or is it the pictures that make it look like it doesn't match/line up??
But the battery seems to have max power/ampage?
I turns the engine over indefinitely without slowing down and the headlights stay bright while it does it.
I'll explore the fuel pump relay before splashing out on a new battery I think.
Frustrating as hell though...I'd so been looking...
My car's thrown an electrical fit and won't start (thread here).
I traced the problem to a relay (nestled under a plastic cover by the battery and airbox)that's clicking 5-6 times while it flashes the gear-change light once the ignition's turned on.
It's supposed to be in this picture, and...
Do have a decat but can't be arsed with bumping it, only live in a small cul-de-sac which has a gradient to it...
I know what the knocking is now...it's a relay under the bonnet...picture to follow...
Right, I'm sat in the car at the moment, with the manual...
Definitely not the immobiliser, both keys I have work and it goes out after 3 seconds.
Still on the original battery Day - and with head and foglights ablaze the starter turns the engine over without them dimming noticably.
Radio...
Help please...
1st time I turned the ignition on, there were 4-5 repeated taps/knocks from the rear left of the car which coincided with the dash gear-change light flashing. Then after all dash lights finally go out I turn the key and get nothing, no solenoid click, no starter motor.
So I...
Unless you're Schumacher, you'll notice next to no difference in the way the car handles...it may feel slightly 'softer' from the higher relative sidewall.
Shame it's going Bubbs, stunning lovely car despite the life of continual neglect and abuse it's had ;)
If you end up breaking it I'll give you a 172 Cup drivers seat and £500 for your drivers seat?
Purposeful!
Is it auto? How are you finding it?
I hate the 'box on my Omega, got a mind of its own unless it's in 'sport' mode, when it's still got a mind of its own, but it thinks quicker.
