Mine went through with no problems - the pads themselves don't have 'Not for road use' written on them so I don't see how they could fail you on them.

You are totally incorrect there. Heel and toe gear changes are primarily about maintaining stable balance in a car and that applies regardless of pace or road conditions. The fact that is saves wear and tear on the clutch is secondary.
