I loved it when I used to get given 1.2's as courtesy cars - whilst most things will see them off from a set of lights, if you drive the wheels off of them and keep the momentum up (which is what it's all about after all), they're as fast as most other things out there...
Trouble is they lack...
Here's what I did with mine...
The main unit
The laser detector
The GPS aerial (including random chav)
Power feed
All very straightforward...took about 1 hour total to do.
Tips? Be sure of where you want the main unit before you use the adhesive to stick the cradle...
Just checker my Renault Cup 172 brochure...and that is definitely right.
They also increased castor angle by 3 degrees on the Cup compared to the FF 172.
AFAIK if you call the Police, following a non-injury RTA, they'll tell you to sort it out yourself. It's only when someone's hurt they need to attend.
Hope you get it sorted out though fella.
I'd say it would depend on how stiffly sprung/damped you have the front.
Look at my picture above, soft at the front with normal ride height, HUGE shift of weight as you turn and force the mass to the outside front wheel, then relatively stiffly sprung rear has no choice but to pick the...
Evo mag also commented in the current issue that they are now putting ALL test cars through a test on the same dyno. Also, they said they'd reveal just how much extra power could be released by running premium fuels over supermarket crap.
I've never noticed the power (but then I have run it...
I'll doubtless get flamed for saying so, but Yokohama A539's are great for playing around on the limit. I've done 40k on them (not one set though LOL) and they're predictable, progressive, never snap, and relatively cheap.
They handle all the abuse you can throw at them on a trackday without...
172 Cup's are not the reason there are so many write offs...it's the drivers.
The best way to make a 172 Cup safer in the wet, is to modify your own driving style, slow everything down, look as far ahead as possible, and know that the unexpected can, and often does, happen. That way when it...
Yup, it's ALL about weight transfer. Just be careful with the back, they're a bit agile to say the least. Get progressive tyres on it though, and you can play with them to your hearts content :D
Nice...that's exactly how it felt when I took mine out for the first time.
Get one quick...judging by the bias on the Greenlight insurance thread, there'll be none left after winter LOL
Yeah, but all the examples you've just given show them rounding the right way...Maxx's question I think was why they'd rounded 1,149 up to 1,200 not down 1,100?
I've no idea...always wondered myself though LOL
Great to see what's being offered for the 172/182's, shame I'd be penalised for all the Cup incidents...
Out of idle curiosity...can you say how many have been written off?
