I've run mine almost exclusively on Optimax since day one...when I've been caught out and had to use 95, it stutters, coughs, and is a pain in slow moving traffic.

My wife thinks my brakes are s***, and that the ones on her Focus are "much better". Over assisted, sharp and snappy is what they are in the Focus.
You might have to lean on mine a bit more, but they perform consistently every single time they're called upon...
At the last airfield day there was about 4 secs between Neil's Valver and the 172/182 runners.
Now, if a 172/182 was 1-2 secs quicker than a Cooper S (realistic estimate or not?), then Neil/valvers are within 1-2 secs of a Cooper S...aren't they?

Mine has loosened up progressively from day one and is now, at almost 48k, a totally different drive...but I always had a very noticeable kick at 5k even from new.
