I was under the impression that using fully synthetic so early in the engines life was counter productive i.e. its too slippery to allow adequate friction for all the engine components to mate to each other?
Nicotine intake done and one removed cover...was a tw*t to remove but got there in the end without marking or damaging anything...getting quite excited now!
When are you getting yours Rich?
If so...how long did it take?
Did you have any problems?
Ive printed off Frostys guide which seems straighforward enough, and Ive got all the required tools, but Ive only got 90mins between meetings this afternoon, and being late for the second meeting is not an option!
Normal driving for me sees the trip showing 35mpg or thereabouts (and its always optimistic by 2-3mpg).
As an excercise in self restraint recently I brimmed the tank, and drove it like a granny (VERY slow acceleration, and reading the road to avoid using the brakes) to see what I could get out...
Cup in the rain? Love it!
I like a car that moves about a bit, so you get to feel whats going on, and in the rain it all happens at much slower, safer (?) speeds.
Traction in 1st and 2nd (and sometimes 3rd) is utter crap though...:)
I bought an ITG panel filter (from Merlin Motorsport) along with a Group N ECU just after I took delivery of my Cup at the end of November. I havent fitted the ECU yet but (want to get it nicely loosened up first) but I was bored at work yesterday so went out and fitted the filter.
Quality...
Exact same problem with me...but then I knew that before I bought it so Ive just learned to live with it. Never ached or anything...its just a pain in the a****! Glad to see theres no "special" treatment for V6 owners ;)
Most of my driving is to and from work, and 75% of that is on a gloriously clear dual carriageway...so Im probably at 75-85mph for most of the time.
In the manual it says that for motorway driving you should set your pressures to 39psi (F) + 33psi (R)...so I did...and I think Im going to leave...
Hmmm...might give this a try when I throw in the R-Sport ECU and ITG panel filter.
Have you done anything else CUP80Y to your or is it all pretty much standard?

Can anyone say with authority that if getting my 53 Cup serviced at a non-franchised dealer, assuming that the work is of a satisfactory standard and...
Just had a replacement fitted at an XS cost of £50 (Grrrrrr!) :@
The guy that fitted it pointed out that it had in fact been hit by something...right near the edge of the screen...and it would have cracked to the edge first...before working its way inwards.
Didnt happen when I was driving...
I dont have a problem with the fact that a new windscreen is only £60...more the fact that I might have to pay for one on a car thats barely a month old and has definitely not had anything hit the screen to cause it :@
Ive got fully protected NCD anyway and Im pretty certain that with Elephant...
I know Im up against Renault...and will probably end up having to fork out for the excess.
How can the windscreen crack without an impact if its not down to a manufacturing issue? Proving it and getting Renault to agree will be the tricky bit...:(
...having a Cup with no problems that is!
Yesterday...parked up...went into Halfords to take some mats back...come back out and Ive got a 6 inch crack running from the drivers side lower corner diagonally up into my line-of-sight. I know it wasnt there before I went in as (very sad) in the...
