On the Evo long termer they had an alarm problem...kept going off all the time. It was traced to water in the alarm in the end I think.
Can anyone describe where the alarm is on a Cup/172...just like to check mine to see if its getting soaked?

Well, Im on 1,300 so far...on the way back tonight it did the same in 3rd and 4th...so Im inclined to thing its a newness/oil problem as its not just affecting the one ratio.
Ive certainly got nothing in the way of whining or crunching at all...in fact, the gearbox is not half as bad as Id...
On the way home last night I gave it some on a few occasions (as you do) and a few times after doing so it became difficult to pull it out of gear...like it was stuck. It did release but needed a firm pull/push and only happened when changing from 1st to 2nd and 2nd to 3rd.
I know a few people...
Well, I cant say if its been officially developed by Renaultsport for Group N but currently I have in front of me a Siemens branded direct replacement ECU for my Clio Cup. Its "Made in France" and also has the Renault logo on it. Who developed that...any idea?
Its off the shelf, theyre all the same...when I ordered mine the guy said that as far as other mods...the only thing hed recommend that would complement it would be a freer flowing filter in a standard air-box (and a sports cat if you can afford it:()...
If there was a problem with the ECU itself Id go back to R-Sport who I bought it from. and as as far as I know, its pretty much undetectable to dealers.
Im not 110% certain though...I just couldnt resist the thought of it filling out and flattening the torque curve along with almost another...
Ive got an R-Sport one...havent fitted it yet though...waiting for the engine to get 2,000+ miles on it before I do.
Warranty wise...the replacement ECU is identical in appearance to the standard Renault item...even down to it being covered with Renault logos...the only difference is the part...
Ooh yeah, forgot about you V6 owners...I should shut up really...;)
I guess Ill get better/quicker at it with practice...trouble is Ive not cleaned a car by hand for the last 6-7 years:o
...172 owners with your nice straightforwards five spoke alloys. My f***ing hand nearly dropped off today having given my Cup a spruce up for the first time since I got it!
Was only about 6 degrees outside and I was shivering like a t**t before I even got to the wheels...they took so long to...
Aww, shucks:oops:
Well, I wanted to get some road time under my belt and post something more than "iv got a cup + its gr8"...hopefully something that others might find usefull too.
